My husband always put his either on or by the laundry basket. Never inhmm why?

My daughter used to do that. I just picked them up and shoved them in a black plastic binliner in a corner. She hated it but it made me feel so much better. Oh does it, but picks it up and sorts it at weekends. I can cope with that.

My OH is very good at putting clothes in the laundry basket but as to ironing, I've said it before, what's that?

When my daughter & her partner moved in together he just threw his dirty clothes on the floor at night. She gave him a couple of warnings to the effect that if clothes weren't put into the nearby laundry basket then they wouldn't get washed.
He continued throwing them on the floor & seemed very surprised when he ran out of clean clothes! He had to scrabble about amongst the clothes on the floor sniffing them shock & looking for the least dirty!

Lesson learnt though.

I must admit to laying my clothes over the back of a chair and OH now does the same and throws his dirty underwear shirt and socks into the laundry basket. I do all the washing and ironing though as he works and I don't. Don't really understand why anyone throws clothes on the floor unless I suppose there is nowhere else to put them.

No I don't mean my OH throws them on the floor at night! I mean he throws them on the floor and leaves them there, growing in numbers, breeding and spreading for days and weeks until he decides to wash them. Believe me, I've put it to the test!

And we came to an amicable agreement years ago that we will do our own washing and ironing.

I fold ALL my clothes VERY neatly when I take them off at night !

My son refers to his 'floordrobe' smile

I wouldn't pick up any other adult's clothes from the floor, but I do kick nudge them into a heap next to the laundry basket smile (and out of sight).

Yes, me too Mishap, but then I do pick them up in the morning and put them in the laundry basket myself wink
And I do Mr A's washing and ironing. blush

Oh gosh! - sometimes I throw my clothes in the floor at night!!

nightowl Sun 26-Jan-14 12:14:39

I don't understand why it would reflect on you petra. My OH throws his dirty clothes on the floor. I think it's a horrible habit but he refuses to change so I end up picking them up and putting them in the laundry basket, just because I can't live like that.

I don't do any if his washing or ironing. I haven't done it for years and I'm not about to start now, especially since he's retired and I'm still working.

We stayed with friends on Friday night and once again, my OH just threw his clothes on the floor. He does this all the time and it's really getting to me now. I told him I am not going to iron anymore of your clothes. It probably wouldn't worry him in the slightest, but it would reflect on me.
