Weird

That does seem odd, to say the least!

Sunseeker that is a little weird as you say. My mobile has rung 3 times recently but it hasn't been my ringtone and it has been nowhere near me at the time. And of course nobody was there. Can anybody suggest a reason for this? I really do not understand what is happening like Sunseeker I am sure.

Logically there are only two explanations. Either you have done this yourself and forgotten or someone else did it.

Have you found any thing missing or moved? all doors windows secure? Spare keys or such? I am surprised if someone has been in your house and up to no good your laptop is still there.

Daft question but did you 'feel' that someone had been in the house when you walked in? I only ask because my daughter dropped in once to leave something and as soon as I walked in I had an awareness that someone had 'been there'.

No one else has access to the house (my neighbour does have a key but only uses it when I am on holiday to check everything is OK - besides they were at work). I didn't have any feeling that anyone had been in and nothing was moved or missing - all windows and doors securely locked.

I can't explain it at all, I could almost accept that I may have forgotten to turn the alarm on (not likely as I am almost OCD in checking things before I leave - doors and windows locked, heating off, do I have my keys!) but I only plugged the laptop in just before leaving and the battery was almost out but it was fully charged when I got back.

And yet the power point had been switched off! It's like a Sherlock Holmes mystery...

Perhaps I could get Benedict Cumberbatch to come and investigate

No, but if there has been a power cut it does say there has been a break in power (its quite an old system!)

Weird things happen in my house sometimes, like the downstairs phone paging the upstairs phone in the middle of the night. I've come to accept that either a) weird things happen or b) I'm losing the plot.

Once you have eliminated the impossible, whatever is left, however improbable is the answer!So, either the neighbour came in and did this [improbable but not impossible]or you somehow did this yourself, forgetting the alarm and switching off the power point and then forgetting.Or, there was a power cut [although that doesn't account for the switch being turned off.]Sometimes I could have sworn that I had done something [or not done something] that turned out to be wrong.Next time you go out, have 3 things to do that you switch on in the house, then come home and see?
