Sadly, the truth is usually more humdrum!

NfkDumpling Wed 29-Jan-14 20:52:46

Aliens?

NfkDumpling Wed 29-Jan-14 20:52:36

Poltergeists?

Once you have eliminated the impossible, whatever is left, however improbable is the answer! So, either the neighbour came in and did this [improbable but not impossible]or you somehow did this yourself, forgetting the alarm and switching off the power point and then forgetting.Or, there was a power cut [although that doesn't account for the switch being turned off.]Sometimes I could have sworn that I had done something [or not done something] that turned out to be wrong.Next time you go out, have 3 things to do that you switch on in the house, then come home and see?

Weird things happen in my house sometimes, like the downstairs phone paging the upstairs phone in the middle of the night. I've come to accept that either a) weird things happen or b) I'm losing the plot.

sunseeker Wed 29-Jan-14 18:46:01

No, but if there has been a power cut it does say there has been a break in power (its quite an old system!)

Tegan Wed 29-Jan-14 18:31:22

Does your alarm give the time that it's turned on or off?

sunseeker Wed 29-Jan-14 18:22:10

Perhaps I could get Benedict Cumberbatch to come and investigate wink

Ana Wed 29-Jan-14 18:05:50

And yet the power point had been switched off! It's like a Sherlock Holmes mystery...

No one else has access to the house (my neighbour does have a key but only uses it when I am on holiday to check everything is OK - besides they were at work). I didn't have any feeling that anyone had been in and nothing was moved or missing - all windows and doors securely locked.

I can't explain it at all, I could almost accept that I may have forgotten to turn the alarm on (not likely as I am almost OCD in checking things before I leave - doors and windows locked, heating off, do I have my keys!) but I only plugged the laptop in just before leaving and the battery was almost out but it was fully charged when I got back.

Nelliemoser Wed 29-Jan-14 17:24:49

tegan I don't find that daft,I know exactly the "feeling" you mean.

Tegan Wed 29-Jan-14 17:22:58

Daft question but did you 'feel' that someone had been in the house when you walked in? I only ask because my daughter dropped in once to leave something and as soon as I walked in I had an awareness that someone had 'been there'.

Nelliemoser Wed 29-Jan-14 17:20:44

Have you found any thing missing or moved? all doors windows secure? Spare keys or such? I am surprised if someone has been in your house and up to no good your laptop is still there.

Aka Wed 29-Jan-14 17:18:07

Logically there are only two explanations. Either you have done this yourself and forgotten or someone else did it.

Nonu Wed 29-Jan-14 17:16:09

Perhaps "Fairies" have visited your house ?
grin

Lona Wed 29-Jan-14 17:08:47

It does sound as though someone has been in your house sunseeker

Aka Wed 29-Jan-14 17:02:00

Who else has access to your house sunseeker?

positivepam Wed 29-Jan-14 16:41:13

Sunseeker that is a little weird as you say. My mobile has rung 3 times recently but it hasn't been my ringtone and it has been nowhere near me at the time. And of course nobody was there. Can anybody suggest a reason for this? I really do not understand what is happening like Sunseeker I am sure. smile

Anne58 Wed 29-Jan-14 16:02:59

That does seem odd, to say the least!

sunseeker Wed 29-Jan-14 14:44:33

Before I went out this morning I noticed my laptop battery was low so put it on to charge while I was out, as I left the house I put on the alarm.

When I arrived home the alarm was off (no message to say there had been a power cut or anything and anyway it would have reset itself if there had been) Went to unplug the laptop and the power point was switched off but the laptop was fully charged confused

Weird or what
