There was a frost last night but it's now raining again. Water is standing on the road; I'm beginning to wonder where it's all going to go. We had a play at our village hall which was meant to be a black comedy; it just rained and rained until everywhere was under water, leaving just the two actors on a boat. I say comedy, but everyone who saw it said it just made them feel depressed. That's how it seems to be now sad. Miserable. Daren't go to see how high the Trent is today shock.

The Soar's not too high Tegan but the fields seem to think they are rivers too!confused

If it's snowing in Brum, I expect we'll get it later.

KatyK Tue 11-Feb-14 10:57:53

Rain turned to snow here too - it's very heavy snow now.

Rain, rain and yet more rain here in Manc. Have decided to cry off Nordic walking this afternoon as my old waterproof trousers are not up to the job. Considering the amount of rain we get in the UK, we don't seem to have many words to describe it. Is there a word for that misty rain that hangs in the air and clings to you? Or for the really torrential stuff, known in my family as bouncy-back rain?

kittylester Tue 11-Feb-14 11:11:12

The drizzly stuff that soaks you is call 'that really wet rain' in our family! grin

vegasmags Tue 11-Feb-14 11:14:42

kitty grin

kittylester Tue 11-Feb-14 11:18:37

Now, it's snowing half crown sized flakes! I realise that ages me but it's what we say! grin

Good morning everyone, It's raining here as well. It has been for the last week with a brief change yesterday when we just had gale force winds. I'm going to have my hair cut later so that will be a windswept look very quickly.
I really feel for all those suffering in the floods. Take care everyone.

It's cleared up a bit here now but was pouring when my gardener turned up and was dealing with the shed which has been damaged by the workmen next door and a window popped out.....now covered, but I can't take photos yet to complain with!

I had to go to the dentist first thing and get a filling...then cleaning;
and the most weird thing happened, what she was doing was so cold on my teeth, that my lower jaw started juddering.....never had this before in my life! She finally had to clean by hand!
It was so strange we all started laughing.

Tegan Tue 11-Feb-14 16:08:43

Blue sky now confused.
