Well you all know how upset we where when Barney died and for the last week we have really noticed the void he has left in the house, well yesterday we had a call from a lady looking to rehome a Lapahapso so off we went this morning and now Poppy is settling in as you can see on my pictures, she has had a sad time but sure to be spoilt here with mr.glamma.

She is all done now and what a transformation but she got a gold star from the lady who did her as she was so good,no trouble with other dogs she has certainly taken to mr g. as she cry's when he goes out of the door hmm

A lovely new member of your family, glamma smile

glammanana Tue 18-Feb-14 15:28:24

Thanks glass she has certainly brightened up the household and she is so so good, just the little bit of training for not jumping on furniture but leaving that for a couple of weeks until she is fully settled in.

glassortwo Tue 18-Feb-14 15:21:09

Ohh glamma she is gorgeous, I am so pleased you for you.

Aka Tue 18-Feb-14 14:48:21

Even of it is very short it will soon grow back. And you'll be able to keep on top of it now.

Settled in very quickly, a good sign. Is she obedient? I have one who passed out top of his class in record time and one who sits there and say 'you can't make me do that'. Not sure who's the clever one though!

merlotgran Tue 18-Feb-14 14:37:45

You need to buy her one of those cushions that says, Spoilt....Moi? grin

Sounds like she's landed in doggy heaven.

glammanana Tue 18-Feb-14 14:25:27

Aka she is at the beauty parlour as I type, lady said she will have to be cut short really as she is very tangled hmm but hey-ho lets hope she is still my friend when she comes back !! just waiting for the phone call to go and collect her oh and by the way she has made herself comfortable in the little back seat in my car,I have bought a harness for the rear seat this am and she has a cushion so she can see out of the window.

Aka Mon 17-Feb-14 12:06:49

We've got the 'before' picture, don't forget the 'after' one smile

whenim64 Mon 17-Feb-14 12:06:25

There's a great de-tangling brush called Tangle Teezer (Boots or Amazon have it) that was recommended on Mumsnet for children's hair. It goes through anything with ease. My friend's Lhasa loves being brushed with it, but would object to anything else.

Sounds like she's settling in nicely, glamma smile

glammanana Mon 17-Feb-14 11:45:43

Aka Yes she is very tangled but is letting me brush & combe her with no problem, she is off to beauty parlour to-morrow and the lady who does them is fab with problems like hers Barney used to go every 6 mths so we know her well and trust her, will start on her teeth later in the week when she is more settled in,don't want to upset her just yet grin All's well just now she is asleep on her bed !!

Aka Mon 17-Feb-14 10:58:48

I expect you know that Lhasas don't shed so need to be trimmed every six weeks or so and they can get very tangled. They need the hair inside their ears pulled out too, and I clean their teeth every day with an electric toothbrush. Sorry if you know all this already smile

I allow mine onto one small area of my smaller sofa, but they sit and wait until I've put 'their' blanket on it for protection. Then at night they sleep on the same blanket on the floor. They are clever little dogs and easy to train.

glammanana Mon 17-Feb-14 10:37:07

Nellie I will keep on trying to get her into the doggy bed we have never encouraged any of our pets to sleep on the bed or sofa's but she just seems to appear as by magic,I am now going to sit her on my knee and do a detangling session she is so placid and has no aversion to the brush & combe grin

Agus Mon 17-Feb-14 10:09:48

She looks adorable. Wonderful dogs and so very loving. What a lovely addition to your family.

My DD1. Has a kitten named Poppy and your Poppy's name suits her as she looks like a wee poppet

Nonnie Mon 17-Feb-14 09:56:56

How lovely, I'm sure you will all be very happy

Nelliemoser Mon 17-Feb-14 09:05:43

Glamma She looks lovely. Will you stick to trying to get her to sleep in her own bed, or like so many dog and cat owners do, will you give in and let her end up in or on your bed at night? wink

glammanana Mon 17-Feb-14 08:45:17

Well the first night went very well ladies, only one slight hiccup she went to sleep on the big poof and slipped off during the night shock and has decided she does not like to sleep on the dog bed we bought her but all well,no crying etc and she is eating well, she has just been dried off after her 2nd walk of the day and tucked up on the sofa smile

Sook Sun 16-Feb-14 22:37:03

whenim64 Sun 16-Feb-14 20:57:41

Ahhh...she looks quite at home there, glamma. I'm sure Barney would be wagging his tail with approval. Lucky Poppy to have found a home with you and Mr Glamma smile

Soutra Sun 16-Feb-14 20:40:52

Very happy for you all! I'll bet she has landed "on her paws" !

LizG Sun 16-Feb-14 20:15:26

That's lovely glamma

Iam64 Sun 16-Feb-14 19:55:57

Brilliant news glamma - there is something very special about rescue dogs (imo). Here's wishing everyone at Glamma villas a great future together

Marelli Sun 16-Feb-14 17:33:42

Oh, she's a bonny wee thing, glamma! She's lucky to have found you! smile

annodomini Sun 16-Feb-14 17:13:55

She looks so sweet, glamma. They are such perky little dogs. My friend sometimes minds one for her daughter. He was suspicious of me at first but within minutes was trying to get on my lap!
