Congratulations ayse how wonderful to have twins, we have a new family baby girl born by IVF, Elsie is nearly 4mths now and a joy to all that meet her.. I hope all goes well for your daughter

Thank you all for the good wishes. She is the last daughter to have children and lives not too far away. The others live in OZ and NZ so I'm hoping to be a bit more of a hands on Gran. I just had to share the news with some lovely people

How wonderful for you and your family. Simply a precious time.

I remember so well my own DD was born on 25th July 1978. Why do I mention that?

It was the day Louise Brown was born, the first IVF baby. To think all those years ago so much was done to give you and your family such a precious gift of life today.

POGS - Science can be a wonderful thing - both DD2 and now DD3 have been able to have IVF and without that they would be childless. I wish all had the opportunity as IVF can be very expensive £5000 per shot was the cost to DD3. (Her partner had a vasectomy when he was 22, so she couldn't have NHS help. Fortunately she has a career that gave her enough to be able to pay for it.

That's great news Ayse. My twin IVF grandsons are 3 months old now . Lots of exciting times and worries along the way but we will always be grateful for the science that made this possible. Hope everything goes well.

I've got two sets of IVF twin grandchildren and the special care provided for them has made me eternally grateful. Worth while joining TAMBA (Twins And Multiple Births Association) as parents and grandparents, especially for swapping news, tips and equipment, and getting discounts for things like two pairs of Clarks shoes. It's fabulous being in a twinny family.

A work colleague was excited but apprehensive when her daughter became pregnant through IVF. They weren't very hopeful about the outcome, but she gave birth to gorgeous twins
