I really have to get a grip on my email inbox accounts at work and at home. When I think of the days where I had a completely manageable inbox situation - right at the beginning of email - it makes me quite wistful. I have one main email address - I did have another, which was meant to be a joint "family" one for husband and I, but a while ago I abandoned it to the spam and stopped checking it. So far the sky hasn't fallen in. I let the most important people in our lives know I was doing that, but one friend was miffed because I didn't respond to an email, she hadn't changed her contacts list!
Anyway, once again I have thousands in my gmail inbox, several thousands in my work inbox, I am inundated by "newsletters" and "special offers" and other notifications, and I feel quite overwhelmed.
I've also definitely got a hoarding thing going on with emails, especially work ones, as they are my "security blanket" and "filing system".
I'd be interested to hear how others deal with this aspect of modern life.
