If there are dozens of people of the same name, you are in the same position as you would be if you looked in the phone book for them. That is where their info comes from anyway, that and electoral rolls and so on.

a) you met them and had a great time;
b) you met them and wished you hadn't;
or
c) you made contact with them but they didn't want to meet you.
