How very strange, Lona! I hope the sunshine reaches us tomorrow.

Brendawymms Mon 01-Sept-14 19:40:18

Here in East Sussex we have had fine drizzle most of the afternoon. That fine get really soaked type of rain.

Lona Mon 01-Sept-14 19:21:52

Happy Monday everyone if a newbie can butt in when the day is nearly over! What about a pinch and a kick for being so quick and no returns - not very nice, but neither is a pinch or a punch.... No sunshine here on Hampshire/West Sussex border, damp, drizzly and cloudy. Shopping for a new bed, but after three bed shops can't remember which we liked best so returned home empty handed.

What sunshine, Lona? It's been dreich in Poynton all afternoon, not so very far away. Glad you are now feeling better.

Lona Mon 01-Sept-14 17:14:36

Thanks all, my chest is easier now and I've been for a walk in the sunshine.

AlieOxon Mon 01-Sept-14 13:08:06

Lona hope you feel better soon! flowers

I couldn't find my seed tray inserts, so went to wilcos and they didn't have any because they think no-one plants anything at this time of year.......so have ordered some to the store....

BUT I had an answer to my note to a neighbour 'are you putting out that table?' which has been in their front garden for a while, metal table with glass top, a good garden table - YES!

A nip and a punch for the first of the month is what we always said. It is quite grey here after a lovely day yesterday.
I was shattered last night after celebrating GDs birthdays early, they were bouncing off the walls.

annodomini Mon 01-Sept-14 12:43:06

Lona ((((hugs)))). Be kind to yourself. I hope things look brighter soon. x

whitewave Mon 01-Sept-14 12:24:52

janerowena Mon 01-Sept-14 11:37:51

So sorry, Lona. Run away in your head, read a daft book or watch a soppy soap.

Nonu Mon 01-Sept-14 11:11:36

Dragonfly1 Mon 01-Sept-14 10:54:55

Not a good morning here!
I awoke in the middle of Friday night, heart pounding and feeling hot. Really thought I was having a heart attack as I'm so stressed. Then yesterday I had an asthma attack! Today my ribs hurt with the strain and I feel exhausted and weepy.
I would like to run away from home please!

Sorry for moaning.

hildajenniJ Mon 01-Sept-14 10:25:14

Good morning Mick, good morning all.
It is grey and damp in Northumberland, although not exactly raining. Weather forecast not bad for later so might have the chance of going out this afternoon as it's DH's day off. This visit to the garden near Penrith seems to have disappeared as the flowers will be past their best now.

AlieOxon Mon 01-Sept-14 10:16:27

I am thinking positive, and have planted some blue grass seed, inside at the moment, for next year.

Now going to find another seed tray for pansies.

janerowena Mon 01-Sept-14 10:13:50

DBH back at work properly today, so I thought I would celebrate not having to do so much cooking with a slow, lazy day of just sorting out stuff and generally tidying - then remembered that he wants me to meet him at 6pm to go to a drinks party. As they are always incredibly boring, but I shall be driving, it means that I have to get dressed up, drive, stand and talk about heaven knows what for an hour or two whilst eating dry or soggy nibbles, then drive home again.

Celebration of cooking/dressing-up freedom now postponed until tomorrow.

People do complicate old rituals over the years, don't they!

kittylester Mon 01-Sept-14 10:05:28

Good morning all!

Drizzly day here in North Leicestershire but I'm not planning on venturing out so that ok!

I know about oysters only being 'safe' in months with an R but not pork which is a shame as we had roast pork yesterday! confused

Don't mention socks to me Alie, I've just bought mum 8 pairs and flipping well named them only to be told that slipper socks would be better! angry

Enjoy your days everyone sunshine

annodomini Mon 01-Sept-14 09:56:43

Sell them on Ebay, Alie!

annodomini Mon 01-Sept-14 09:55:29

I understood that for months with 30 days it was 'white rabbits' and 'rabbits' for the other months, though I'm not sure about February. So - 'White Rabbits' to you all this rather drizzly September morning here in Cheshire.
