Having nothing else to do on a Sunday afternoon I'm browsing the UK newspapers online (how sad!!)

The Indy reports that there is a one -floor property, five metres wide at it's widest part, for sale in Islington. It's decidedly 'bijou'... well I don't mind that and it is in a 'desirable' area...... BUT:......(and I quote) "With only two rooms, the bed is suspended above the lounge and has to be accessed using stairs from the top of kitchen units" It's actually a tidgy mezzanine in case anyone imagines a bed suspended by chains from the ceiling.

Yep.... that's right, a photo confirms the purcheser would have to stand on the working top to access the stairs!

Another estate agent adds "It's a great crash pad for the area". You can say that again! Even stone cold sober I'd never even get oonto the work top let alone up the stairs, and after a post-prandial G&T... well God help me, I'd have to spend the night on the kitchen floor!

They'r 'avin a larf... surely!

Bet it's been sold already - people pay that much for a garage in Islington!

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 07-Sep-14 17:20:31

I love it! I want it!

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 07-Sep-14 17:20:58

absentgrandma Sun 07-Sep-14 17:33:23

Yes. I've slept (collapsed) on the kitchen floor a few times, and woken up with my face jammed up against the pedal-binblushbut that was 50 years ago, don't think I try it now.

How on earth do you change the bedding?

Agus Sun 07-Sep-14 18:02:57

I could probably spend one night in this bijou residence.....but certainly not a second!

Would people really pay this amount of money for what is no more that a glorified lock-up?

MiniMouse Sun 07-Sep-14 18:22:41

Just looked at the link. Flippin'eck, you could end up being one of your own casseroles!

It's really badly planned, I think. It could be done so much better.

DH thought this hilarious. He went to school in Barnsbury. Obviously knows the area well.

It's really cute! Much better thought out than my bedsit was - and it's own loo! Needs more cushions though.
