teetime I would be sorely tempted to attack those side bits with my scissors - but probably not a good idea as I can't manage to cut a straight line! Very annoyed with John Lewis who managed to leave one roll of wallpaper off my delivery and I now have to wait another five days - grr. Hoping they get the batch right - they have been told! Off to take it out on the weeds on the allotment (when it stops raining)

jam I thought it was just me that couldn't find a hairdresser who could keep my hair in one style - this time she has given blunt cut sideburns instead of my pointed whispy ones and they are driving me mad. I keep thinking I will stop having my hair coloured and let it go white but its the growing out badger phase I don't fancy. Perhaps I should go into hiding for six months!!
I'm afraid its no more cake/croissants/biscuits for me until Xmas I am an ELEPHANT! Just a black coffee from now on please I must be punished. I needed a dress for a meeting on Monday night and I was BULGING!! too much sitting around in the sun with a spritzer. I thought all the golf would have burnt it of but no. Oh well here I go off to knock seven bells out of small ball in a large field again. I hope you are all having a good Wednesday.

Something I would be miffed about too Lona and the not replicating what you asked for drove me crazy Jam so I have finally given up with regular hairdresser visits and I have let my hair grow to my shoulders, a trim every six weeks and for the first time in years did my own colour. Cost me £4.95 for the colour and I am really pleased with the finished result. Finally have the length, colour and style with the added bonus of saving a fortune!

Lona I don't think it's just the male hairdresser, they're all in it. I have yet to find a hairdresser of either sex that can replicate their previous efforts so going in and saying yes I was very pleased with it last time, can I have the same again never seems to work (inserts symbol for "sigh")

I could do with a cup of coffee with a nip in it please, I'm a bit miffed!

We haven't had a visit from Mother Cat for two or so months. Our pal in the village tells us that a cat answering to her description has been seen passing through their garden. They have three dogs, and said cat doesn't linger. I'm away to tiddle around in the housework department. Nothing too strenuous...a flick with the feather duster and a swift waltz with the vacuum cleaner should suffice.

Charleygirl MacS has told me often enough that Rory is "a good boy"...and, like any feline, including Tara, the word naughty doesn't mean a sausage. The two fellas are out in the garden. They do most things together. Rory officiates and MacS keeps a watchful eye on his whereabouts. Should he [Rory] stray too far [just out of sight] MacS stops what he's doing and wanders off to encourage him back where he belongs. Tortoiseshell cat is far from timid, 'though she continues to creep under the hydrangea whenever I place her supper dish within easy reach. She has never looked better. Could it be that chicken is more nutritious than mouse!

Tara has retired to bed having been told off for scratching the back of a chair to attract attention. It did not have the desired affect, she expected cuddles instead of hearing the words no and bed. I am sure that Rory would never be so naughty.

Good afternoon to my dearest Kitcheners...I have completed my weekly task of a morning's ironing for a pal. Am now ready to catch up and drink a near-pot of freshly brewed coffee.

I agree that eBay is a wonderful source for hunting down some amazing bargains. I have used it for several years and not once have I been disappointed. Overall, it is a buyers market. I have sold some beautiful "stuff" for very little. On the other hand, I've acquired some stunning bargains. It's well worth looking at Vintage clothing. I discovered the jacket in that category. As it happened, no one else had spotted [or wanted] the bargain. However, until the final 10 seconds I never put in a bid. I bid £33.33 for the jacket. Because no one else bid on it...I "won" it for the asking price of £25.50 including free postage. I doubt that I could have found anything like at such a low price in let's say M&S.

Galen I am so sorry about your cruise, especially as they are not cheap. I would have thought that "disabled friendly" would have been part of their repertoire but obviously not. Can you not complain?

My D H has had great success selling his old records on EBay. He has sold them far and wide, from South Korea to Russia, to Iceland. It is amazing what people will pay - the best he has achieved so far is £120 for an esoteric jazz album from the 70's (It had the original price sticker of £2.99!). So, dig out those old albums, you never know!

Thank you, Agus and moomin I shall continue to trawl for possibly some weeks. It's a challenge that I enjoy. I wanted to be a "fashion designer" when I was a girl. To seek for a garment that may be "just the thing" for a special occasion is, for me, very satisfying.
