Heck, I've never thought to take my handbag to bed. It hangs on a chair in the kitchen. DH puts his wallet in the drawer of his bedside table so he's obviously got more sense.
Years ago when I was zonked out on painkillers for sciatica and shingles I left the back door wide open and my purse on the kitchen table. When I got up the next morning I found my Rhodesian Ridgeback laid across the back door mat, obviously guarding the establishment. The two Jack Russells and the cat were curled up in her basket!
