DejaVualloveragain Sat 11-Oct-14 12:34:51

They have rules shockhmmwink

ChippingIn Sat 11-Oct-14 12:33:41

enormous didn't you read the 'rules' before leaving Mumsnet. No swearing and no asking for chocolate ok the second part I might have made up

enormouse Sat 11-Oct-14 12:31:48

Oh God, is swearing not allowed here?? I said 'arse'. Is arse allowed??

DejaVualloveragain Sat 11-Oct-14 12:30:25

Mine are upstairs DS is tidying his room shock and DD is doing something on her laptop...possibly work.

BlackeyedSusan Sat 11-Oct-14 12:28:43

I can feel the prressure building, I need MN back. The pressure of not swearing is bulding up and it is all going to come out in one long stream and get me a banning soon...

"HURRY UP!"

ChippingIn Sat 11-Oct-14 12:25:10

Fluffy because he posts too, or to keep you off his back? grin

Well, if we're being that honest about the scones - then yes, butter, jam then cream grin

enormouse Sat 11-Oct-14 12:25:10

Have managed to get both little blighters to take a synchronised nap.

Now I can relax and arse about on the internet fully before I have to get lunch on.

Fluffycloudland77 Sat 11-Oct-14 12:21:15

Dh is as anxious for mn to come back on as I am.

LetThereBeCupcakes Sat 11-Oct-14 12:14:42

Hi all! Another refugee here. I brought an apple pie. My grandma always had apple pie.

DejaVualloveragain Sat 11-Oct-14 12:04:56

Butter, jam then cream wink

CeilingCat Sat 11-Oct-14 12:03:21

It'll be a classic guitar then. Yet another one (sigh).

Agus Sat 11-Oct-14 12:02:59

I was thinking the same Kitty. A bit more fast and furious though!

Hope your GDs aren't too hyper after a day with the idiot.

Perfect timing with the scones for elevenses When. Def. jam before cream for me thanks.

CeilingCat Sat 11-Oct-14 12:01:43

LittleLights, I have never dared admit that I would like butter on my scone as well as jam and cream. But I would do butter, then cream, then jam blush ; but only if no one was looking wink

enormouse Sat 11-Oct-14 11:59:45

Always thought it was cream first, then jam.

chipping grin

ceiling maybe he's bought something very expensive for himself (ps4, motorbike or a new leather jacket if he's anything like my Dp) and he's trying to butter you up?

BlackeyedSusan Sat 11-Oct-14 11:56:59

Me too TLLOM.

The right way to top a scone is the way the scone eater prefers.

Theselittlelightsofmine Sat 11-Oct-14 11:54:13

Butter, jam then cream on mine.

BlackeyedSusan Sat 11-Oct-14 11:54:13

Do you think he is secrestly addicted to MN too ceiling? perhaps the lack of internet traffic floating throuhg the airwaves is to blame?

ChippingIn Sat 11-Oct-14 11:53:53

Blimey ceiling - I'd look for something more serious than a broken mug!!

Wanda jam then cream looks the nicest, but I have been worn down by science and actually, it does make sense to put the cream on the bottom and the jam on the top.

The whole Scon v S K Oh N was answered by Paul Hollywood on the live webchat yesterday. Scon. Gavel.

WandaDoff Sat 11-Oct-14 11:50:29

Did somebody say Scones?? smile

So what's the consensus on scones here anyway?
Which goes on first, Jam or Cream?

We have had many heated discussions on this topic.

Cream first is the right way obviously, but there are a few that seem to disagree hmm

CeilingCat Sat 11-Oct-14 11:48:25

Aaaaaargh! Help! He's now talking about the best way to cook lamb and Yorkshire pudding.

I am going to have to call emergency services aren't I?

ChippingIn Sat 11-Oct-14 11:46:48

looks I did suggest to DH that perhaps he should stay home but he said 'it would be fun' He's not quite right is he, poor man clearly needs to lie down!

WhenIm64 oooh lovely, thanks!! smile

Ooh enormouse I do love a good vegan brownie!! Not adverse to a pain au chocolate either... <can you see why low carbing is such hard work for me grin> <hides from Biwi & her big stick>

Ceiling - odd, very odd... what's he been up to? Has he broken your favourite mug or something?? grin

CeilingCat Sat 11-Oct-14 11:44:00

Ah yes DejaVu! That'll be it.

I was really worried for bit there grin

DejaVualloveragain Sat 11-Oct-14 11:41:00

Ceiling Cat are you sure you're not hallucinating from the shock of no mn?

enormouse Sat 11-Oct-14 11:38:37

Brent cross though look, are you insane? But tell us what you buy. I'm a nosy git.

Scones sound lovely. Just disappeared off for a bit to wash and sterilize a hundred bottles.

I can bring brownies to the proceedings - vegan for those who are that way inclined. And pain au chocolaaaats.

Oh goody here comes DS1 with tabby mctat.

CeilingCat Sat 11-Oct-14 11:38:29
