Hi chipping! Have a nice day!

baubles Sat 11-Oct-14 10:00:29

Welcome Mumsnetters, good to see you. I do a fair bit of lurking over there, I wish it had been around when my DCs were little (see, I've got the lingo smile ).

Agus Sat 11-Oct-14 09:59:18

Meant to add, since GD2 started school in August, I no longer have nursery runs sad, but more time to faff.

ChippingIn Sat 11-Oct-14 09:59:17

Hi Fanjo smile There's only a handful of us and things are a tad slower here, so I'm going to go out for the day, otherwise it's going to look like ChippingInNet grin

fanjo Sat 11-Oct-14 09:56:17

So this is where all the addicts are!

Agus Sat 11-Oct-14 09:48:12

Well, I've been on Gnet, had two espressos, emailed DD2 in Oz and sent DH off to the park.....he goes there for a brisk walk every morning and meets up with some other boys doing the brisk walk thing too. House to myself grin

BehindLockNumberNine Sat 11-Oct-14 09:48:05

Oooh, I think I am much more at home here! Your Discussions of the Day are Chin Hairs and Dribbling in your Sleep!

Sadly both very relevant to me these days.....

ChippingIn Sat 11-Oct-14 09:41:12

Nellie grin I'm not sure you do want to know grin

Refugeefromthestorm Sat 11-Oct-14 09:41:06

How old are you Nellie?

ChippingIn Sat 11-Oct-14 09:40:40

I wish I'd put the washing on when I got up, it could have been on the line by now. It looked like it was going to be wet, rainy day, so I didn't - but now it's lovely & sunny & too late <sigh>

Nelliemoser Sat 11-Oct-14 09:39:28

Come on you MN refugees what do you really think of various threads on here compared with MN? I am really interested.

Do you think you would want to join it when you are Grans?

LaurieFairyCake Sat 11-Oct-14 09:34:25

What sort of faffing have you done so far Agus?

Nelliemoser Sat 11-Oct-14 09:33:50

Refugee It's not me is it? wink

Agus Sat 11-Oct-14 09:33:07

Laurie I don't do mornings anymore, just faff about doing what I want for a change, it's bliss except of course when both GDs stay over it's a joy to waken up realising they have sneaked into my bed sunshine

ChippingIn Sat 11-Oct-14 09:31:11

Morning BIWI smile

I should be Bootcamping but I'm not, I'm carb loading <sigh>

Have fun at Chinese - I find it impossible to get the sounds right. I can't even get Mum & Horse to sound different enough! grin

Shiongmaoniao Sat 11-Oct-14 09:29:28

glad someone else is disapointed with the threads on mumsnet
Glad we have GN my other got to forum (non baby related) is boring on the weekends

so should we start a poll on what time mumsnet will actually be back up ?

cupcake and brew all round

ChippingIn Sat 11-Oct-14 09:28:44

When I have coffee & toast - but I'd love a scone when they're ready smile

<ignores the 10,000 steps thread>

I love that I'll be able to blame Gransnet for my ever expanding waistline grin

LaurieFairyCake Sat 11-Oct-14 09:27:16

I'd love some buttered toast but only if it's real butter and not some heart healthy quinoa based spread.

BecauseImWorthIt Sat 11-Oct-14 09:26:39

There was certainly a MASSIVE disapproval of swearing be some of the first Gransnetters. I joined up when GN started and ended up on a thread arguing about it! That's when I realised that I felt more at home on MN grin

Morning all.

Just off to my Chinese lesson but will be back later. Any of my Bootcampers here?

TheHoneyBadger Sat 11-Oct-14 09:26:31

i wish i'd popped over here a while back when my cycles were going crazy and i was having what i thought were hot flushes that were seeing me sat with my head between my knees hyperventilating! i was convinced it was menopause but blood tests came back normal.

maybe we should ask mnhq to ask gransnet users to compile a what to expect when you can no longer be expecting type guide? i was amazed how little any of my friends knew about menopause and how awkward it was to approach older friends and ask them without getting oi are you calling me an old codger type responses.

whenim64 Sat 11-Oct-14 09:24:20

Chipping MNHQ has probably not seen all the threads on Gransnet (yes, I know they're the same people, but let's keep up the pretence grin ) It's not swearing that grates, but personal attacks, with or without swearing.

Having said that, sometimes it's a bit of a culture shock when I visit Mumsnet and see how some people let rip with streams of the most creative Anglo-Saxon curses that would give Frankie Boyle a run for his money grin

Anyway, who's for some hot, buttered toast and fresh brewed coffee? There's more when I get some scones in the oven. If there's one thing we do well on Gransnet, it's feeding each other! grin

LaurieFairyCake Sat 11-Oct-14 09:23:29

Helloooooooo

Is there more cake over here than Mumsnet?

And it's nice to see folk up. Older folk always get up early to 'potter' - which basically my fave activity.

Refugeefromthestorm Sat 11-Oct-14 09:20:22

I am another non tea and coffee drinker. Hot chocolate for me at a push.

Refugeefromthestorm Sat 11-Oct-14 09:19:40

Hello smile

Wonder if my mum is here? I know she lurks on Mumsnet.

ChippingIn Sat 11-Oct-14 09:17:56

Hi LondonRach smile
