Some companies are so kind

My elderly father had his car vandalised a few years ago. The authorised repairer was so expensive that the car would have been a write off. The assessor suggested giving my Dad the write off money so that he could have it repaired at a cheaper local place which he did. The cherry on the cake was that the insurance company sent him some cut glass tumblers as he had had such an awful experience. Know we cannot advertise but think little red telephone

It's a tough job pompa but somebodies got to do it

Our son ran the London Marathon a couple of years ago. He approached our local jam factory in Tiptree to see if they had any banners etc that we could use to promote the village. They said that unfortunately the lady that dealt with media was on holiday.but they would sponsor him for £100. After he event we emailed to say that he had completed the run and raised almost £1500 for his charity. They came back and said they thought he could do better !, and if he could raise another £500, they would match it. He beat up all his friends and duly made the extra £500 + £500 from Tiptree jam, so his final total was over £2500. We asked the factory if we could put a bit in the local paper about their generosity, they said NO, they had not done it for publicity and did not want it.

Unfortunately this means we feel compelled to eat as much of their jam and marmalade as possible

I work for the Police, and dealt with a case recently where a man had all his tools stolen from his van, when he re ordered something he had only recently bought,they asked him why, and on finding out he had it stolen, replaced it free of charge, and gave him a free nail gun !

I think 6 is a magic age - they are just so interested in everything.

DD2, aged 6, wrote to Kellogg's to make some observation about something that had or hadn't been included in her packet of Coco-pops (I was a bad mother).
She got a letter back, starting 'Dear Elizabeth, Thank you so much for taking the trouble to write to us.......thank you again for your helpful suggestions', going into some detail addressing the remarks she hade made.

It was a lovely letter and is probably still lurking somewhere in the several boxes of stuff I can't bear to throw away.

What a great Company! Especially as their cars are so expensive. How fantastic for your little boy. I suppose it just goes to prove "if you don't ask, you don't get"!
