Argos !!!

I was looking to buy a treadmill, I Googled who sold them, and more important who would deliver to the Outer Hebrides, I looked at Argos, then it came on my screen "to enter your post code" that was fine, they will deliver, it told me where my nearest shops were in case I wanted to reserve it at a store. all looked good so I went ahead and ordered the treadmill which wasn't cheap.
I immediately received an email confirming the order with an estimated delivery date. A week later I wanted something else so I went to order it but I couldn't, I rang them up to ask why, to be told we do not deliver to your area, I asked to be put through to the orders department to check on the treadmill to be told all was fine, so after quite a few phone calls and emails telling them of my dissatisfaction and still being assured my treadmill was coming, after all they had taken the money from my bank. I then found out "we do not deliver to your address". By then to say the least I was flaming mad, it took a while to get my money back, The Christmas advert just adds insult to injury

Big companies are often bound up in computerised systems that have no flexibility, when they go wrong the s- really hits the fan.

I had a similar problem reserving online from Tesco, a large TV. When I arrived at the store the price was £200 more that I had been quotes just 30 minutes earlier. Long story as to why & wherefore, but it was all down to computer systems. I complained to the store manager who agreed that I had been poorly treated and left me with a free coffee and went off to make some phone calls. He returned 15 min or so later, not looking happy. He had hit the same brick wall that I had and was not happy. He apologised and asked if I still wished to purchase the item at the price I was quoted, I said yes. He then presented me with £200 in gift vouchers to purchase the item with, he had no other way he could sell me the TV at less than the till price.
As a result I still use his store.

We ordered a present for GS for his birthday and because we we rather late it was due to be picked up on his birthday It was not in store and the manager didn't know when it would be. To be fair to him he rang the next day to say it was in. However after 4 weeks a part broke (it was a £200 bike) my son returned it and they ordered another and gave him a £10 voucher,2 days later the same part failed and DS returned it and asked for a refund and to his astonishment they asked for the voucher to be given back.I can't put his answer on a forum read by those of a delicate nature, not quite true but you get the idea.

Really disappointing, nina - makes you wary of using the service again.

Perhaps if they spent more money on their systems instead of the nerve ending TV adverts at the moment! Hope you things turn up soon.

Ironically Marelli I have had two e-mails and two texts telling me the items are ready for collection.
On Monday the manager rang to check and was told "Order has left the warehouse but we can't say where it is"
Have they never hear of live tracking?

That's annoying but I must admit we have always found the system to be very good.

They should surely have had some facility to text you to tell you that your item wasn't yet available, ninathenana? That's really bad service.
