Hello my lovelies. It is a sparkling day in bonnie Kintyre. The sun is shining and the air is crisp. The wicked wind has abated.

Purpledaffodil You must also keep warm. The colder weather appears to be moving south. Do you have snow at the mo'?

I'm pleased to say that we have replaced the wrecked and ruined keyboard... my silly fault. I should know better than to type and drink coffee at the same time. A recipe for disaster.

Rory has a "nest"...MacSporran has fashioned one from a fleece. He has also taken a real liking to my tartan chair. He gives me the 'evil-eye' whenever he decides that I should vacate it.

The bird cherry tree is still standing. It may survive the winter providing the gales keep away...which is unlikely.

My thoughts with our Bella and any Granspal who may be having to deal with a less than trouble-free time.

I've been thinking of Bella too this morning.

It's snowy and murky here, no sunshine just fog. I'm huddled up on the sofa in lots of woolies!

Bright sun here in north Wiltshire but I fear it's going to be very cold this week, not looking forward to going to university every day, the back roads I have to use can be treacherous.

will go and have a look soop. I've uploaded a picture of our garden and 'our' little Church (our house was the vicarage, from 1587 until 2009) and also our local cross country ski slope up the hill. Can you see them? I've never done this before.

Today was one of those winter wonderland day, lots of snow, hoar frost and the most brilliant of sunshine and light- when we feel so so lucky to be here.

loopylou Oh, please take extra special care when driving next week, especially if the roads are un-gritted. When we lived in Cornwall, I also had to drive along a narrow, winding, back road in order to get to work. Icy surfaces and fog are an absolute nightmare. Be sure to take your phone with you. Safe travels.

Lona darling, stay put. If you have no need to venture forth...don't. Apparently, temperatures are going to plummet tonight. -15 for parts of rural Scotland. That's awfully chilly. I shall have a hot water bottle tonight.

It does sound very chilly. I just went outside, 0C felt bad enough.

Thank you soops, the one time we saw a gritter up here he was lost, and when DH suggested he gritted the back hill was told it was 'more than my job's worth'!

Well I've opened a profile and made it public- so it seems you can access picture of 'our' Church and local xcountry ski slope, taken today.

A stupid joke- if you are going to cross country ski, pick a small country (even so Switzerland is a bit too big for us to cover on skis).

Thank you for your kind thoughts soop and Lona. Things are much better, thanks. DH had three bad days this week which had us concerned, but he is feeling a lot better now so we are looking forward to our trip to Rome on Tuesday. Only for five days, but the break will do him good as he has been quite depressed of late.

LOVE all your photos and just wish I could figure out how to put on more than one at a time. Galen has the same problem so we came to the conclusion it must be the iPad that causes the trouble.

Have a wonderful time in Rome Bellasnana. Very excited here, as we've just booked out trip to Southern Sicily with bil and sil in April. We went to northern sicily last year and loved it.

Beautiful pictures granjura. I love snow in photographs, but not keen on slippery pavements and traffic gridlock. Bet that doesn't happen so much in Switzerland though
