Pompa and all. You should try using cooking oil to remove chilli residue from any body parts rather than water. The chilli residue has an oily base and using oil removes the chilli effect more effectively than water.

And all the while wondering why the water sounded so loud

Without wishing to disclose too much pompa it was indeed Mr P that chopped the chilies, but it was me that ran to the bathroom

A few years ago when I was working, we had the dreaded secret Santa. I purchased a lovely vanilla scented room fragrance spray. My 'victim' opened her present, said 'oooo lovely', lifted up her blouse and sprayed her armpits! Now if I had said anything, she would then have known that it was from me, so I just kept quiet!

ell, I will tell you of my chilli incident (which may be along the lines of Mr P.)

We grew a bumper crop of chillies. Decide ti dry some and pickle the rest. After an hour ish of cutting up chillies, I washed my hands and went to the loo - big mistake - next stop (very quickly) the shower, another mistake, that just spread the chilli around even further - next stop, laying on sofa with my tackle on an ice pack. One family member found this all very amusing.
Now wear gloves for chillies.

I'm not even going to mention Mr P's chili incident..............

....opens the car bonnet to fill up the washer container, puts her specs which slip off her head when bending over, on top of the radiator and then slams the bonnet shut when she has finished - and wonders what the funny shaped piece of glass flying through the air is, opens the bonnet again and finds the remaining specs in about 7 pieces? Just did it - so stupid

Yesterday I left the bolognese sauce on high and turned off the spaghetti. Sat enjoying The Chase, went into kitchen expecting my spaghetti to be 'done' but found the sauce almost dried and the spaghetti in a solid cold lump. Managed to save it though.

I once thought I would make a boyfriend a nice cuppa. I put the kettle on and after a while we smelt burning rubber, I had put the electric kettle with rubber feet on the gas stove. (I had a hob kettle at home) That romantic interlude cost him a new kettle for his mother. Oops.

Put Otex ear drops in my eye instead of antibiotic eye drops. Trip to A and E

That was sort of what my grandmother used to wear, more or less. My mother wouldn't be seen dead in one. My grandmother's were all blue fine check slightly fitted coat-style, with a collar and pockets. They were a sort of stiffish cotton that didn't need ironing.

Maybe there is something to be said for those nasty 1960/70's 'nylon, housecoat,pinny,overall' type coat we used to sell in C & A when I was young. Does anyone remember them?

Some were flowery and some were plain but with gingham trimmed collars and pockets with either buttons or poppers up the front, big square pockets and either long or 3/4 sleeved... Maybe we should all buy one I'm sure they will sell them on Ebay

Not one of mine thank goodness, but my friend's wife decided to paint the louvre doors on their wardrobe. It wasn't until she opened the doors afterwards that she realised he had hung his now zebra-striped dinner jacket on the back of the door.

Arrived at rather stylish self-catering holiday apartment in Cornwall. Dashed from room to room, admiring the furnishings, opening cupboards, bouncing on beds, as you do... In the bathroom thought 'Wow, what a very smart toilet brush and container, JUST what we need at home!'. (How sad am I getting excited about a toilet brush ) Picked it up, turned it upside down to try and find out what brand it was/where it came from... and had my foot and lovely, brand new sandal showered with the very unpleasant juice which had obviously been accumulating there for quite some time
