I told you hubby couldn`t spell, didn`t I? Today, he wrote NEW MONEY on his pad, after a while, we worked out that he meant pneumonia!

It is a glorious day in bonnie Kintyre. There isn't a whisper of a breeze. It is warm and delightful in every sense.

We've had our usual stroll and stopped to talk to half a dozen local people...meaning that we're a little late in getting down to other less pleasurable jobs about the house. MacSporran and his trusty cat are going to tiddle and tidy in the garden. I'm going to clear the wardrobe and drawers. I had some beautiful scented drawer liners given to me at Christmas. They will now be put to good use.

Last evening, at about six o'clock, I was about to feed Mother and Tortoiseshell cats when a man surprised me with a magnificent bouquet of flowers. The attached card gave no indication of who the sender was. I imagined that the flowers may have been sent by my sister. I thanked her profusely, after which, she said that it wasn't she who had been so thoughtful. It wasn't until this morning that I was able to phone the florist and check details. After a good bit of paper shuffling, a name was read out to me. Dearest Bella my heartfelt thanks for your kindness.

Bright here down south, but very chilly wind. I've been wildly prevaricating (I should but trying to write an academic essay) but have just done an hour's weeding.

I liberally spread bags of bought compost on the borders - and now I have thousands of b....... 'Bird's eye' seedlings coming up
Never mind, it's been lovely seeing the bulbs coming up and several Peacock butterflies and big, fat bumble bees.

Definitely well deserved soopand how nice of Bella. It is lovely to stop and chat to people in the spring sunshine.
I have been trying to keep up with everyone's news. Forgive me if I miss anyone.
First of all Numberplease and Soutra, I am so glad that your husbands seem to be improving. I've been a bit worried about mine although improving physically he has been very vague and down. However last Friday he announced that it was the first day that he felt like doing anything and has been improving ever since. I've wondered how much of it was caused by the general anaesthetic.
Bella I hope your DH is feeling a bit better now. Don't forget to look after yourself too.

loopylou, darling, you have been much busier than I have. I'm part way round the bedroom. The local school collects all manner of things for re-cycling purposes. They have managed to raise substantial funds through their efforts. I've a nice bin-liner full of fabrics of one kind and another. Every little helps!

Welcome back dustyangel I have been wondering what you've been up to. Good news that your husband appears to have turned the corner. I can verify through personal experiences of general anaesthetics that they do have a detrimental effect on one's mood post-surgery. Long may his recovery last. The sunshine is bound to help. It is a stunning day in bonnie Kintyre.

soop I am not surprised, this thread feels like a calm oasis in a very muddled and sometimes scary world.

And sometimes I have felt frantic about my niece and how my sister would be if she were to die, and then read about so many others' situations, that are so much more immediate to them. The calming and charming portrayal of where you live is very soothing, as are you.

All I can do is with all of you the energy to get through all of your ordeals. Worry is so very tiring.

Well, it has been a fortuitous day all round. I had a notification that there was a package awaiting collection at the Post Office, so duly collected it.
Thank you, dearest soop for the truly lovely watercolor of Max and Zim ( our dog and cat). You have captured their features perfectly and it has lifted my heart no end to have such a very special gift.

DH was released from the hospital today, the cat has been signed off from her daily treatments and DD2 has finally appeared and is tackling my ironing pile. ( without my having to ask)

Son in law returns to the States tomorrow so things should settle down again, so I feel much less stressed already and have a huge on my face just looking at soop's work of art.

janer You are so right, this is such a safe place to come with our problems. Mine always feel insignificant after reading everyones' troubles.

I appear to have torn a tendon in my right rotator cuff which is a bloomin' nuisance. I've researched all the sensible medical sites for treatment and exercises, and I'm confident that I can manage on my own with the help of anti-inflammatories. However if there's no improvement after a few weeks, I shall take anno's advice and go for a corticosteroid injection.

Lona that's really painful and tedious-I found physio helped no end, didn't go down the steroid injection route.

It's silly little things like doing up your bra behind your back and brushing my hair that were so tear-making and frustrating. I do hope it resolves quickly

Isn't it a wonderful thing to log on and discover that our Kitcheners who have been having a tough time, one way or another, have a day when life brings smiles and lifted spirits. How lovely is that.

Lona I was in a lot of pain with my shoulder. I had a steroid injection and, after two days, it worked absolutely 100% and I have been pain free ever since.

Great news Bella.

I meant to send a for Bella and some for Lona but you can both share them, and I hope your shoulder settles down quickly Lona that sort of pain just drags you down.

My brain is all over the place at the moment (well it often is ) I found out this afternoon that I have had an appointment in UK brought forward to 31st of March. I haven't put everything away from last time yet. I've checked with DD1 that it's alright with her and she said, "Of course, it always is." And then she sort of shrieked and said " March? You've only just gone back! " I could hear the girls in her office laughing so I hope she was joking.
I don't like the idea of DH being on his own over Easter but he says he'll be fine and will just have to console himself with chocolate.

We were having our early morning tea in bed (Rory sitting alongside) when MacSporran said...'I wonder why swordfish have that long snout...' Silence...'they surely can't use it to spear other fish...' Well, that was that. Every morning we sit in almost complete silence, apart from the purrs of Rory, and watch the birds having their breakfast. Occasionally one of we two poses a "tricky question". I so wish that these sessions were recorded for posterity.

Have just taken delivery of the eighth delivery today of parts for my son to build a new computer with this weekend. I am having to open and photograph the contents! How I am supposed to know if anything is broken or missing is beyond me...
