Hooray! The man came today to fit the handrails at the bedroom door, but I still don`t think they`re really what he needs, but the other ones were discontinued.
Someone`s coming to view my rise and recline chair in the morning, I hope they buy it! I`ve had it advertised for sale since August/September time, have reduced it so much that I`m practically giving it away. It was only used for 3 months, so is still like new.

A new baby - how wonderful! I wish ours would hurry up - due last Thursday and no sign of action at all. She looks as if she could go off pop!

Number - we did give away a recliner as we could not get anyone to buy it.

pompa rather than taking drugs have you considered rubbing in anti-inflammatory gel to your hip joint. Have you been doing too much walking or gardening etc recently?

Crouching behind the couch in soop's kitchen also has not done it any good. You should be sitting in a chair which supports your joints. Go and sit with Rory, he knows what is best for him.

I just need to wind down a bit with a cup of tea, I have just hosted Book Club. (This means I actually have to do some cleaning, so is a Good Thing)

There are plenty of nibbles left - nice flaky pastry sticks, with seasalt and black pepper, olives stuffed with garlic, houmous and carrot and celery, loads of lovely black grapes, cashew nuts anyone? All the amaretti were eaten, I noticed. Much rose and raspberry cider were imbibed, and for once we actually did spend the whole evening talking about books!

There must have been a big spider on the last load of logs I brought in, it spent the evening terrorising one of my friends. It was a large plump spider that moved remarkably fast. DBH arrived home at 8.30pm and even he couldn't catch it. So I think I'll join you lot for my cup of tea, as I'm sure soop's kitchen is a spider-free zone!

CharleyGirls, you may be right about that couch, was a bit draughty down there. Other than that I have not done anything out of the ordinary

This is a sudden change in my hip, I had exactly the same thing happen with the other hip, grumbled for years then the cartilage collapsed and it was bone on bone and very painful, that is what I suspect has happened again. I have an appointment with the Dr. later today. Even if he wants to wait and see, I need to discuss pain/inflammation relief as I am limited in what I can take long term due to other medication. Whatever, as least I will get started on the eventual route to THR.
Had a good morning so far, Dr. sorted. Found a kitchen bin to fit the extremely narrow space we have in kitchen. Got a new floor for the kitchen sorted and under way. Lots of positives in a short while.

pompa good to hear that the GP is sorted. You need an xray to see what grade the OA is at- grade 4 being the worst. It sounds as though you are making your way to the waiting list for another THR. At least you have been through it before so you know what to expect.

Have you tried anti inflammatory gels to rub in? They do work sometimes.

You have been on the go getting a new bin and sorting out a new floor covering for your kitchen. I need the latter here but I need new doors and a worktop surface first. It is never ending is it? Last month I felt as though I was sitting at my front door and handing out money, so much had gone wrong here.

I had never heard of the grading until GN. Knackered was the term my Dr used, and refereed me for TKR.

pompa a grade 4 does not necessarily mean that you are in lots of pain. I have had my right knee replaced, my left is grade 4 but that knee is not painful all of the time. I am hoping that I can survive until next year if not longer.

At 70 if knee/hip pain prevents me enjoying life, I would rather get it sorted sooner, don't know how long I have left (and I'm not being morbid, just practical). I have already outlived my Dad.

I am sheltering here from another thread! Having a very bad morning depression-wise but have to hope that the rest of the day will bring better things.

I laughed at that - so I have started a new thread, lit the touch paper and retired. I think I am old enough and wise enough to have formed my own opinion and know that it's not worth my breath trying to convert others to my way of thinking. The only end result is feud. Which is fine if you enjoy a good battle.

But I prefer cake.

Good news, just back from Doc's, he thinks it's bursitis and will inject it. Plus got pain/inflammation relief sorted along with buffers. Bad news is Doc is on holiday, then I am, so will be June before I can get injection.

Cor...it ain't 'alf parky outside our cosy home. The sea is exceedingly lively. And, earlier, the Paps of Jura were snow-capped.

Positive pompa ...and yet, to have to wait so long for the injection seems barmy. Is there not a locom to stand in during your doctor's absence?

Hi Soop, thanks for offering us all a port to run to in stormy times.

I could push for a different Dr. but I much prefer to have the same Dr throughout. With the pain relief, it will be fine.

DD just seen midwife who is keen to start poking around - DD fended her off! Good girl!

Hello everyone! Another refugee from the storm here but I do not come empty handed! I have brought a very large, freshly made apple tart and a big jug of dream if anyone feels in need of a little sweetness.
