who would like a genie

Oh what a fabulous idea! I'd set my genie to work in the garage first, to clear out all the junk and get rid of all the spiders and cobwebs [yuk emoticon]. Then he could make a start on my filing cabinet, throwing out and shredding all the old and unimportant paperwork and organising everything else neatly.
Oh and all the cupboards. Yes, the cupboards could definitely do with tidying and organising, especially the ones upstairs where I keep all my craft paraphernalia.
In between all his tasks, he could pour me a glass of wine, or make a cup of tea. What bliss!

At the minute I need a genie to go out to work to bring in some cash until I get back to work.

For years I've thought how great it would be to have a P.A. That's the same as a genie, I suppose.

My genie would whisk me off to somewhere like Sorrento or the Carribean for a much needed long holiday and have the whole house cleaned, decorated and tidied for when I come back.

My late mother used to say that she wished "the fairy" would come and do all the chores when she was tired, so I guess that was a sort of genie. I used the same saying when my boys were young and said recently in front of them that I wished the bl***y fairy would come as I'd been waiting 63 years already. "Well, Mum, what do you expect when you swear at her!" was their reply. Yes, a genie would be nice - he could do all the housework and gardening while I become a lady who lunches..

Definitely all the cleaning, especially inside cupboards , round skirting boards and in all those other places a 'quick hoover' doesn't reach !
Depending on how many wishes s/he was granting, they could then clean windows, the cooker, paint the fence, ....

I appear to be everyone elses genie.....they bring their problems voom they disappear.......am thinking of changing my name to Andrex cos we all now what that does...

wouldn't object to some one tall dark and handsome rubbing my bottle.....especially if he had a magic wand

I could really use a house repairing, and decorating genie.

And that's not working out too well!

This is all a bit like Humans on Channel 4.

Oh, and the genie could clean every pair of shoes in my cupboard( and I have a lot!) Perhaps he could sing cheerily while he worked, a selection of songs from musicals would be nice.

I would like mine to clean the windows and the oven. I would like him to mow the lawns which are proving a bit much for my DH now. I would like him to offer help my DD with all the stuff that needs doing to her house. My brother-in-law was in a pub a few years ago and someone went up to him and said 'excuse me, would you consider playing a genie in a pantomime I am putting on?' I will refrain from posting his reply. He does look very much like how they portray genies in pantomimes.

Good idea Ethel, I would like a genie too.He could do all the ironing piled up in the spare room, give the wooden furniture some lemon oil, then whip up a delicious meal for this evening.My Mother used to wish for much the same thing as you said, somebody to come in a car and take her to a nice cafe in the countryside( she was on her own, when we were children)Dad had died.
I always used to wish that somehow it could happen for her, but of course it never did.

I would imagine genies are asexual and don't like that sort of thing but maybe I would just rub his lamp instead.

Today I am so bored with staying in I would like him to take me out for a run in the countryside then for a nice meal somewhere (he could pay), then home to find he's done the housework and disappeared into his lamp (or bottle I don't much care where he goes) lol.

I'd like him to magic me some delicious, sweet and/or creamy food that has no calories and devise some exercises that cause rapid body reshaping without the need for breathlessness, sweat and discomfort. In fact I'd rather like them to be something you do in your sleep so you go to bed flabby and wake up sleek and toned

Oooh yes please! I`m preparing my list of things for him to do already, just in case they do become available! Cleaning windows, and pulling all the weeds up out of the back yard are first bon the list, and hopefully he`ll find a magical fix for the hole in the garage roof!

Definitely the windows plus anything technical. If he could magic my computer problems that would be great. Oh, and deal with all my 'paperwork' and find all the stuff for the dreaded Tax Return that would be helpful. I would only rub his lamp - the bottle's quite out of the question

On yes, the windows! I would rub anyone's bottle to get my windows cleaned!

I don't mind planting and pruning but a genie to do the weeding would be very useful.

Not sure about all that rubbing of his bottle - is that a euphemism?

I would definitely get mine to do all the heavy gardening work, leaving me to sort out the more creative and decorative part...

He could also clear out the loft and take all the accumulated junk of years to appropriate resting-places in an instant!

And clean the house overnight - especially the windows, inside and out...
