Sorry I don't know if you have a thread re your DGD but can I just add my congratulations too.
Hope mum and baby doing well.
Ann my friend has injections in the eye and if it helps she says it sounds worse than it is.
I know everybody is different but her vision was extremely cloudy around the edges, if that makes sense? Since having the injections her vision has improved quite a bit so try and think positively.
for you too.
Ann I'm glad to hear that you have a positive result for your eyes
Jud congratulations, lovely names for your dgd
Jus, congratulations and beautiful names, bet she's grown some already
.
Charley girl, hope you are feeling a bit better and recovering from the shock of it all. You are amazing being able to keep your sense of humour through it all, hugs for you and [flowersann, hope the injections sound worse than they will be, thinking of you
Good morning to you lovely lot...the sun is shining and there is a brisk cool breeze.
Judthepud The names chosen for your granddaughter are beautiful. I do like Rosie. Such a pretty name.
Ann I thought that I might be squeamish about cataract surgery. In fact, it was not at all distressing. I shall have the second cataract removed when it is "ripe".
Torben's first school report is heart warming. All the teachers say such positive things about him. The words that I liked best were...^kind^, thoughtful, considerate and a good mediator...
I would just like to give huge thanks to all Kitcheners who have sent me such kind remarks and support. It is GN at its best and I and many others have reason to be very grateful .Dentist this morning and I need another crown so back to the mundane for me
Jud those are lovely names.
HappyNan1 I have lost 4 kilos since my fall. Not quite the way I would have planned to do it but each cloud has a silver lining. Also I am only spending money on on line shopping and the odd item a friend brings- no more relaxed cups of coffees when supermarket shopping.
I still have a horrendous black eye and did not think too much about it until somebody rang my doorbell and I saw her visibly recoil. Admittedly I could do with my hair being professionally cut but am I that bad??!! Who cares!
My cleaner is on holiday so a new girl started yesterday. The first room I showed her was my downstairs loo and I do not know what she expected to see because what came out was wow.
ann now you are on the eye treatment system, hopefully things will get moving. We are too old to be fighting for our rights.
annsixty You are one of us lot...a VIP
Charleygirl Thank goodness that you are on the mend. Your bruises will take a very long time to fade. Broken bones would have taken even longer. Relax!
Rain has interrupted play at Wimbles. What's worse is that the pixels on the screen are breaking up from time to time.
Excellent news, Ann60. But Charleygirl, what a rotten accident. I hope the pain is subsiding. Toes are surprisingly sensitive, as I know every time I stub mine on a small-hours trip to the loo. Anyway, do take good care of yourself, not that you have much of an option at the moment. But 4 kilos in such a short time? Could you patent that diet?
And breathe!
Alea Gasp!
The break in my big toe is diagonal, the full length of the toe- I only hope that osteoporosis did not assist it.
Ah well, I am enjoying the tennis- Andy as usual had me sitting on the edge of my chair. Friday, against Roger should be superb. I have seen enough tennis for today so Novak will have to play without my support.
Charleygirl A diagonal break must be awfully painful. Thank goodness that you have good friends and neighbours.
I shall log off for today. I shall return tomorrow. Wishing our kitcheners a pleasant evening.

Annsixty Good to hear they are getting on with trying to sort out your eye problem. I was wondering how you were doing. I hope all goes well.
Charleygirl That is one big weight loss, do go easy on yourself.
Judthepud lovely names!
Great day with Pitcity watching Wimbledon in Colchester park on a big screen. First time it has ever happened to us, our bus ran out of fuel halfway home, tax cuts maybe !!!
Hello everyone, I'm new to this thread and it was recommended to me by Jane Ainswworth from Tea dances thread so thought I'd pop in to soop's kitchen and say hello . Would love to chat to anyone messaging, been quite ill with leukemia and this is ideal for me to get involved with while i recover. so hello everyone love to hear from you .Take care speak soon byeeeee
Hallo Sally. I pop in now and again. Soon is a wonderful hostess. You do have to make room for Rory the car on the sofa, the view from which is magnificent. There are usually cakes, always calorie free. Sorry you have been ill, and glad you are recovering
I should have said Soop! To whom apologies!
Oh no! I'm not drunk, I promise, CAT, not car
Rory the car! On the sofa!
Bellanonna
Welcome Sally345 Sorry you have been so ill. I hope you are feeling a little stronger. I find this a lovely relaxing thread where people are really kind and supportive to each other. And Soon always responds which makes you feel you are not being ignored!
Jud - you've done it too!!!
Nellimoser thanks but you would not notice if I lost double that amount!
I appear to have cut down on sweets, chocolate and rubbish like that although I am not getting any exercise.
Wecome Sally345 you will enjoy soop's kitchen- the cakes and titbits are mouth watering. Rory is always there if you want a back to stroke but he may not necessarily move to make way for you.
A very warm welcome to you sally345. Us lot will do our very best to make you feel at home. I'm sorry to hear that you've been so poorly.
My husband (*MacSporran*) has a form of leukaemia. His condition is being monitored. Although the cancer cells are in his bone marrow, he won't be starting treatment just yet. "Wait and see..." He's very bright in spirit...just a wee bit weary from time to time. Please keep popping in to the kitchen. We always say - the more, the merrier.
Bellanonna
Rory is almost the size of a small car. I won't tell him...he's very sensitive.
Hello again pompa and Nelliem
Charleygirl I trust that you are feeling stronger with every passing day.
Oh my goodness...Wimbledon semi-final time. I shall watch the ladies match with no sound. Cannot abide the screams from you know who. As for Andy and Roger playing each other tomorrow...I'm all of a nervous dither. I shall need more than a Magnum to keep me from losing the plot.

The screaming was discussed on Breakfast TV yesterday because it is also irritating some of the crowd. We can at least switch down the volume but then miss the commentators remarks. Apparently it gives them more strength when they scream. I personally think that it should be stopped permanently because it must be off putting for the opponent although most are used to the noise.
Enjoying this semi-final and rooting for Radwanska who has a very pleasant personality. I thought I remembered, and have just checked, that Joanna Conta beat the Spaniard, Muguruza in the Eastbourne tournament, just a few weeks ago. She is a powerful young woman!
