What's your brilliant day?

We had a pretty brilliant day yesterday when DS and DSiL went to have the sports car driving experience we had given them for their respective birthdays. I've never seen two forty-something's so excited when they'd finished! Like a couple of schoolboys! I didn't think we would be able to go and watch as DH is still getting over the surgery he had just over a week ago, but he insisted on going and was ok. DS then cooked us a lovely barbecue dinner which we ate in the garden in the evening sunshine. It's not that often we all manage to have a proper get together.

My brilliant day was on Wednesday when my DS and I took my little dgd to see Mr Tumble in Manchester. She was overwhelmed with the whole experience and sat on her daddy's knee with her mouth open!
We had some lunch and explored by the canal and then had tea at the Cloud bar, where the views of the city are fabulous.
Dgd was a joy and we had a lovely time together.

My brilliant day would be to have my 3 three daughters and 8 grandchildren plus SiLs all together. I don't think it's likely to happen any time soon. A photo of us all together would be lovely. Last time we were all together was 4 years ago in France but there are now 2 more gcs and no Grandad......

Happy Divorce Day. I remember my divorce day. I was so happy. Even though I was ill I was waiting outside the Court Building before it opened at 10.30. By 10.35 all the documents were stamped and I was officially divorced. The man behind the counter didn't seem to understand my elation and reminded me that if ex won the lottery I was no longer entitled to half. I told him it didn't matter because he'd have drunk himself to death within six months then my daughters would inherit it.

I think my brilliant day was my 60th birthday. DH and DD2 organised a surprise party and the guest of honour was my DS who livers in the States and flew in from the States that morning. I was at work and hadn't a clue until I walked into my own living room to find it full of friends and family, and DS appeared.
I burst into tears

Thank you everyone I so appreciate your comments. Gransnet has been a real lifeline and it's been so interesting to communicate with so many different people who have been very supportive. I hope you all have many more years of brilliant days I'm certainly going to enjoy mine!

My brilliant day is any day that I have all my DDs and their families with us. I treasure these times and count myself so lucky as they happen quite often.

Happy Divorce Day for yesterday Twice!The Christmas after my marriage had ended was wonderful. A very simple affair at my daughters little house; no extravagant presents and, as no grandchildren were around back then, we ate late and by candlelight.

Congratulations, TwiceAsNice. You sound really euphoric as indeed you deserve to be. I was pretty chuffed when my divorce came through, though it didn't take half as long as yours did. I so admire you for being able to carry that stress through three years. My best day (so far) was my 70th birthday when my family organised a big party for me - family and friends from far and near, a bagpiper to pipe my guests into the hall and a magician to entertain the children. My DS2 made me a cake in the form of a VW Beetle (My all-time favourite car) and everyone rallied round to provide a delicious buffet coordinated by former chef, DS1.

Congrats TwiceAsNice, you must be walking on air! I guess my most brilliant day recently was 4 weeks ago being with my DD in theatre as her baby girl was delivered by C-section. That was pretty ace!

Wow TwiceAsNice - good for you Spending time with my family does it for me - they are all coming around today with gifts (I assume!) as it is my birthday tomorrow.

Friday was a pretty good day for me. Sun was shining , picked up youngest GS from school so got a big hug and we put the roof down on my car which was to impress his school friends. Then back to DDs house to a chilli made for me by my eldest GS. Then spent most of the evening playing video games.....perfect.

Can't top that one!

Seeing grandsons today. That'll do nicely.
