I was told when the new coins were issued, some years ago now, that they all would fit together in a design but they all seemed the same to me, so thank you for solving that.

I discovered this, or was told it, a while ago and was scoffed at on GN (no names!) for not knowing before. It's a very satisfying design idea, isn't it?

Ha Ha, downtoearth. DD put this on facebook and I did exactly the same until DSiL explained it. I then raided my purse and DH's very deep pockets to see if I could do it.

If you look closely gj you can see a shield where the lines join up with heraldry inside it?
It took me some seconds to see it (and an enlarged photo!); I was totally unaware of this and thought the lines on the coins were just random

Well have to say I never saw it, so waited until someone posted an explanation. I blame my pound shop glasses....very clever once you see it.

I knew, but only because I'd seen it on here before. Didn't spot it myself.

numberplease, I asked OH and he didn't see it- I was so surprised he didn't notice me because he is so good at patterns and everything mathematical..
