Taking the island back

I saw some young people being interviewed and was so moved by their attitude. They want to celebrate the lives of the people who died and not leave them to be forgotten.

I think they were right to return and continue to work for the cause all those who were murdered died for

I feel desperately sad for all of them - the families and friends of the victims, the survivors, everyone involved. No-one knows how to 'be' in the face of such evil, and it must have taken enormous courage to go back and reclaim the island. The engraved steel memorial is so touching ('When the thick mist pours into Tyrifjord, it condenses, and the steel weeps.'), but I felt terribly sad for the handful of families who have as yet been unable to deal with the finality of their children's names being added, or for their photos to be included at the museum in Oslo.

Wonderful young people. In fact I thought the whole country responded with great humanity and dignity after the atrocity.
