Do you think you're still 'attractive'?

I like to think that I am still attractive & I do make an effort with my appearance but have to say that since I've been a widow, I might as well be invisible. I do miss the compliments I used to get from DH.

When I say my hairdresser was full of admiration for PP I wasn't being sarcastic, he really did think she looked wonderful!!

And looked at me in disbelief when I said she was the same age as me

Ok for someone my age, but do not want any photos of me taken and after I do my face each morning, ironing out the creases etc. I try not to look at my face until bedtime. In a way I am glad my late husband hasn't seen the changes in me because he saw me at my best.

PP has definitely had some " procedures" I would say.

Better to grow old gracefully. People say ' You don't look your age' and I choose to say " This is what 67 looks like."

That photo is a work of art. I wonder how thick the slap is? Note the scarf round the neck - you can't disguise the tortoise rings.

I don't even recognise myself any more let alone know if I'm attractive!

She's been looking weird for years; a great pity, as she used to be stunning.

Resequartz, Priscilla's head doesn't even appear to belong to the body! Nothing natural about that photo!

A lot depends on one's definition of "Attractive". Regardless of how I look, I'm sure I must be attractive to some one :-)

My OH's greeting to me every morning is 'Morning beautiful' and last thing at night it's 'Night beautiful'. I am beautiful to him and that's good enough for me.

another of her little beauties a dress with ties at the back made me look like a sack of s**t tied in the middle....as you can guess I was neither a looker or mums favourite...

My OH isn't the most effusive when it comes to compliments but I was complaining about how old I was looking the other day and he said "you'll always be 23 to me". Bless him. Maybe we just don't look any older to those who've 'grown up' with us!!

Now then. You see Twiggy and Helen Mirren get on my boobies. In the light of day they definitely do look their age. Most of the time when we see red carpet photos of them, their hair and makeup is only intended to look good for a short time and touched up between shots. And then of course the photos are touched up - big time. Twiggy's M&S campaign photos are some of the most touched up I've ever seen. It bugs me when they are held up as shining examples of older women when so much about them is artificial. Rant over.

My hairdresser made me laugh when he admiringly showed me a photo shoot in one of those sleb mags about Priscilla Presley.
He thought she looked absolutely wonderful - and she did, although she must have spent hundreds of thousands looking that good at 70

I would be, if it wasn't for the lines on my face and my weight lol

Luckily DH still finds.me attractive. He says it's because I'm his Lullydully!!!!

However he may need new glasses.

I do find it a bit daunting that we are still in competition with Twiggy and Helen Mirren!!!! Never could look like the former..wrong build. Do love the media when they praise older women....not.

I do.worry when they show older women who have had obvious ' procedures. Would rather my old sag than their tight chin and drawn up eyes..

Will not give up makeup it does make a difference, especially the mascara. '

On a more cheerful note, Presumably as we are also mentioning our children and grandchildren, someone must have found us attractive at least once or twice, don't you think?

I wondered whether we were all thinking that beauty or attractiveness is physical. Maybe being attractive is as much, or more, to do with an attractive personality - what do you think? And wouldn't it be nice to have relationships, of all types, with people and personalities rather than faces and bodies?

Nature is wonderful: failing eyesight means we can't see the wrinkles. Don't know whether to laugh or cry - I expect both will result in more lines.
