*Nelliemoser" Mozart (Actually, not being very knowledgeable about music, I wasn't aware there were other versions so I'll have to seek them out and have a listen).

Schubert Mass in Eb with choral society; and Seal Lullaby by Eric Whitacre with the group that I run - and some other bits, including the Litany for All Souls by Schubert. Then we are on to Christmas stuff.

Eloethan That is a good range of music. Whose version of Ave Verum Corpus are you doing?. Most composers have had a go at it. I did a whole singing day doing old to new varieties of that a couple of weeks ago.

joanna we have sung Carpenters in our choir in the past, and for some reason (I have no idea why certain songs do this to me) - I became overwhelmed and had to dab at my eyes in a practice session on the first words of "Day after day, I must face a world of strangers where I don't belong..."

I am of singing Happy Together in a choir! When I was 17 it was my school boyfriend and my "song". And we certainly were ... so it always reminds me of him and those happy, carefree days. He was so good to me, I ditched him when I started working - what was I thinking!

I also love The Carpenters, am currently enjoying the CBBees version of "Calling occupants ... "

I was in a small a capella choir before joining this much bigger, accompanied, choir in January this year. I'm enjoying it so much.

It's the conductor's final concert as he retiring at 80. We are doing choruses from the Messiah and Carmina Burana. Sacred to the rather profane, judging by what I was singing on Tuesday.

It's fun but a bit of a tongue twister in various versions of latin and german.

I love the Carpenters songs! Especially We've only Just Begun - one that reminds me of when I met my husband. I can imagine it sung by a choir.
I always belonged to a choir, until we came to France . I could join one here, but it's the driving in the dark in winter that puts me off.

Our Community choir is currently practising Carpenters songs (as in Karen and Richard) and we are also re-doing an alternative Holly and the Ivy, which we always enjoy singing.

Around the seasons for the first half of our concert and Christmas stuff afterwards. We all love 'Bethlehem' (from Martin Guerre, I think) and ' While Shepherds Watched' to the tune Lyngham, which is the favoured time in these parts.

teetime I'm amazed at how much my voice has improved again since I went back to the choir after a break of about three years, so I think practice helps! Or perhaps voices have a sort of "muscle memory".

Sounds lovely grannyknot. I'm no longer in a Choral Society since moving northwards and there isn't a choir here that I would join (all modern and swaying about not for me). The last thing I sang in was Samson which was glorious. Miss it terribly but the voice is not what it was. Have fun in your choir
