If you had loads of money.......

If I won really big on Thunderball or the Premium Bonds I'd buy myself a bolt hole back in London. I'm a Londoner born and bred and I find it comes very hard to be exiled in Sussex. I'd like to be in a position to have the Tube and buses nearby. As it is I have to take the car wherever I go. There is only one bus available, one other if I go into the town, and too hilly to walk very far, certainly not if carrying the shopping, hence having to take the car, so I'll think positive and keep hoping. A very happy Christmas and New Year to all gransnetters.

I've already decided that I'm only (!) keeping 2 million of a multi million lottery win. I have a list of family, £1 million friends, half a million friends, etc, so would love doshing everybody up.

I, too, would rather have experiences rather than stuff ( apart from the luxury bed linen!), so would probably do the private jet travel.

Having said that, I haven't checked the ticket I bought on Tuesday. Watch this space...........

Forget all other ideas, today I'd buy an isolated Scottish island. Don't mind living frugally as long as I'm left alone...

I've seen several little islands in the middle of a river with a house on them I would like to live on whitewave. I'd be quite happy to use a little boat (with an engine) to get to the river bank. There's a couple on the Menia Straights.

Where would I keep my helicopter charleygirl? I don't want a big house as I don't want any cleaners except someone once a week. A lovely apartment with a sea view and a large terrace for some plants would suit. Having people working for you can cause more work and annoyance. No cooks I would Prefer to eat out when I don't want to cook

Travel would be my first thought but to be able to help my children get on the property ladder would be fantastic for me.

I would have a carbon neutral eco house built to my design. Then I would like a cook/housekeeper/chauffeur to go with it.

Trip of a lifetime and a new house would be the first things I'd do. I love living here by the coast, so I'd choose somewhere overlooking the sea.

Ii would take my computer to an expert immediately it made the slightest stutter and buy a top quality laptop/iPad and smartphone and regularly up date them. Also my expert would show me how to use all this technology.

Some bits of cosmetic surgery and teeth fixing. Helping out the children.

Yesterday I was stuck on the M25 for 3hours on my way to catch a plane ( which I made with minutes to spare ) so maybe a lot of money would mean I would not worry about buying another ticket but there would never be enough to fix the M25. A chauffeur driven car could go no faster than the bus.

A personal masseur and of course a cleaner and someone to do the ironing.

Sorting out the children, money in trust for the grandchildren, money for their education, money to help Mum as she gets even older.
Then a house in the country with dogs and horses - although I am a bit ancient for horses now! Perhaps retired horses

some time ago because of rising prices and silly marketing, I stopped collecting British stamps after 60 years; if I had the money, I would be able to catch up on all the last few years issues

PS I would want to enjoy experiences rather than buy stuff!

I'm guessing the lottery has a big jackpot tonight because there was a queue for tickets in my local shop earlier on this morning!

Our family has always shared any good fortune, so it would be a given that we'd make their lives as comfortable as we could with any windfall that came our way. If you won £163 million mentioned by someone earlier, then that amount would come with responsibilities. Giving lots away to family, friends and good causes would make life easier!

First class travel to as many places as I could possibly fit in for as long as I'm physically able to travel. Deposit on a house for DD. Teeth whitening for me and the odd bit of liposuction here and there.

Firstly, pay off the DC's mortgages and top up their bank accounts; buy a pied a terre near two DD's in the South of England and another near DD in Oz to which I would travel 2x a year, first class of course. I would hopefully, in the absence of a husband, handy or otherwise, be able to afford to employ a handy-person when required to sort out all the problems which come with property..... I would also give to charities both at home and abroad. So long as I have enough to get me from A to B and to afford a few luxuries along the way, that would be good.... - Oh, and enough to pay for my care once I am past it

A wet room and more cunard cruises but in the Queens grill rather than Princess. Oh! And another string of pearls perhaps?

Today I'd skip the personal assistant and spend the money on my brother. He has type 2 diabetes not helped by his working patterns. I'd finance a change of career and whatever treatment needed to make him healthy again.
