You deserve an early night- it cannot be easy traveling to London and the RFH is not that easy to get to. I live about 5 miles away from the place but it is not my local.

Well a bit of good news at last. The biopsy has come back from OH's operation and it is all clear, no cancer. Must admit (don't tell him) that I had forgotten about it with everything else that has been going on.

Hope soop that you are feeling a little less battered this morning, hope you are still in bed being waited on.

soop I'm so sorry to read of your nasty fall and very glad to see that although not exactly better, you are recovering. I hope you are still enjoying a well deserved lie in. I always find that the knowledge that I can lie in, is relaxing in itself, and I wake up early.

Wow, Alea, I think you deserve the bunting and [cupcakes] and have some of the champers too. Your Dh is lucky to have you but I'm sure he realises that.

I went to see my lovely hairdresser yesterday. She is also a friend but I do wish she would not keep cutting while she is telling me about her stupid boyfriend. Or, I wish he would behave himself so I don't leave the salon looking like a skinhead! I suppose it saves money as I won't have to go for ages now!

unfortunately dustyangel he has too many other depressing matters to celebrate one of them going away. We were just saying that we are looking forward to next week when we can start getting in a new routine. Then the funeral of his mother will be over, he will be back home (he hates flying) and we can get used to being only a two dog family.

We need to deal with Torres's beds (he was the only one of the three who liked a basket type bed), and we have too much food as we buy it in bulk but the sell by date is before the other two can use it up. Really the same sort of worries that his step-father is having over his mother's things.

I remember when his father died some years ago his step-mother never moved his things and I am sure his pipe is still on the kitchen windowsill. It is so difficult dealing with their possessions. When my mother died we had only a few weeks to clear out her flat so had to be ruthless and invariably some of the family were upset (me for one when my brother took all my father's books to the charity shop when I had said I wanted them).

I do feel that I have hijacked soop's thread here but hopefully next week I can get my mind to other matters.

Lona My "neglige" (don't know how to do the accents) is heavy-duty, head-to-toe candlewick with a useful zip and pockets. A girl has to keep up appearances. As for grapes...we happen to have a bunch lolling in a bowl in the kitchen.

Charley I'm bruised, shaken but not stirred. The hip replacements were spared. I'm so thankful. It's the easel that pains me. I was so pleased to find it for sale on ebay. MacS is sawing wood in the loft. He's to attempt to repair it.

Alea your husband has done remarkably well. I think that you both deserve a gentle, "well-done" hug.

Nellie the carer in the Campbeltown Care Home is from the Midlands. Whenever he gives me a cup of tea he says..."Enjoy, me duck" I like that. My Nana always called me either that or duckie.

Tizliz Good news regarding your husband's biopsy. You have an awful lot of upheaval to deal with right now. I admire your fortitude. Perhaps the vet could distribute the tinned food on your behalf. I can understand how you'll feel when his bed is put away.

MacSporran is to have more bloods taken. Next month he has to have a full body scan. It's one more step towards monitoring the lymph gland activity.

I received some gorgeous flowers this morning. I am wearing an ear-to-ear grin. Thank you...you know who.

Tizliz glad to hear about your husbands results. That is one thing off the worry list ! Re your dog's things, it is so hard looking at the possessions left behind. We have an animal rescue centre near to us who always appreciate donations in the way of food and bedding. Perhaps you could consider that.

Yes, if no-one wants to buy the food off me (2 x 17 kgs of Royal Canine which costs over £50 a bag, so would prefer to sell it ) then it will go the the local rescue center. I was building up a pile of towels etc for next time I go passed. When my GSD passed away a few years ago now I donated her medication which was gratefully received.

OH is keeping me busy cleaning in his workshop today, which is why I am here having a crafty cup of tea

We gave our stuff to the RSPCA kennels near us. Kept his personal stuff though like his collar and coat he wore in wet weather. His toys have been used by our next dog.

TriciaF this is a small business, engineering workshop. I am the only one who can find anything anyway. I don't need to work as many hours as I do but I might as well otherwise I just get calls asking me where something is.

I started a major spring clean a few weeks ago, just a few hours each day but it has faded away lately with other problems. I cleaned the CNC mill today, probably the muckiest job. The coolant really needs changing but I refuse to do that.

However I do not go into his gun room (spare bedroom really) at home. Not allowed to touch in there, though that does mean he has to clean my rifle himself. Only shoot paper targets, nothing live!

soop the three dogs have a big box of toys which they rummage around in to find the favourite of the day. Torres's liked firm fabric type toys, which he used to prop against a tree and pee on it . The oldest dog only likes plastic balls and the youngest like plush toys that squeak (the louder the better). So Torres's toys will probably work their way to the bottom of the box but I can't throw them out.

Tricia I wanted so much to have a wee shed with neat shelves and hooks and stuff for tools. MacS took over the shed. I cannot bear to open the door. He keeps everything regardless. He tells me that a large spider may have taken up residence. I'm not so sure.

Tizliz I am spluttering with laughter. Torres did things in style! Squeaky toys are the favourite of my pal's dogs (all Pomeranians). As I iron, they carry them around my feet and the squeaking becomes part and parcel of my morning's entertainment. They also yap whenever the phone rings or whenever someone enters or leaves the room. They are, however, extremely sweet natured.

MacSporran needs to see the skin specialist tomorrow. Campbeltown, thank goodness. He has certain bumps on his bonce that are regularly zapped...
We shall then call in at the care home. Also stop off for a coffee at The Royal. Followed by Tesco shopping. The fact that our normal routine needs to be adjusted (slightly) will confuse us greatly. I shall believe that Friday is Saturday...
Rory has been sitting with Tortoiseshell for about an hour. He is in residence on the door mat. She is sitting just one shallow step beneath him. She knows her place. I could say that Rory is wearing his - I'm a very important cat expression. It's hard to tell.

Soop your comments about MacSporran's bumps has just reminded me of when I joined GN. Too scared to post on any thread until I happened to get caught up in the story of MacS and his spots (several Kitchens ago). The support, humour and concern that was being posted around what was a worrying time for you, made me venture in to this haven of care (not to mention the and ). Hope all goes well with the specialist today. I can get the Apple things too, so here you are Soop ? ? ?
