soop gave me a key so her you are, folks, the new extension. Plate of crumbly oatcakes on the side there with the coffee and tea pots.

I would imaging the Alea is already doing something with/for her DH as she is not around. Hope he is ok. flowers

DH's situation won't be helping you to feel better quickly ann. (((hugs)) not much help but distance makes any other helps difficult. Actually, ann, I don't think you are too far from my friend who had husband troubles yesterday. flowers

I just popped in for a second- DGD1 is insisting that we sit and watch West Side Story together. grin

I was so impressed with the plastering that I asked for a quote to have my bathroom, downstairs loo and hall ceilings re- plastered.

I have sent an email to book a gas safe man to turn off my gas hob on the Monday in 3 weeks and on again 2 days later after my kitchen has been fitted.

I only have to sort out a painter now once the plastering has dried.

ann I was amazed at how little mess there was. I have cleaned the entire kitchen again so that should be that I hope.

Alea DH does volunteer work as First Response, and he always says if you are really concerned don't mess about, phone 999 and get an ambulance crew. They are very good and will always be cautious and take the patient to hospital.

Alea Sat 13-Feb-16 15:05:49

Thank you, all!
DH seems reasonably comfortable tucked up warm and snug in bed but has promised to say if these pains increase in any way, intensity or frequency. We have wonderful care from paramedics and ambulance crews in the past flowers
Galen would twisted bowel not be lower and more constant? This is nothing like as bad as his perforated bowel 8/9 years ago when he was grey with pain. He is quite pink and contented in between bouts. It is also much higher up just below RH ribs

Charleygirl Sat 13-Feb-16 15:09:31

How is Grace?

Alea Sat 13-Feb-16 15:23:19

My other invalid!!
She is much calmer and the tail is healing nicely, but I am still taking no chances with the lampshade , poor ?

soop Sat 13-Feb-16 15:23:36

Alea Trust your own judgement. If for one moment you feel that your husband's condition is worsening phone 999. Better be safe than sorry.

ann You are under enormous pressure. Dementia is a bloody awful thing to have live alongside. You will feel washed out and tearful. Is there a support group near to you?

Charleyg It was well worth the wait. He sounds like a good all-rounder. Well done. Did you pamper him?

kitty Okay! West Side Story it is. Do have popcorn? Snuggle up close. I love doing that with my young grandson. Special moments. smile

Galen Sat 13-Feb-16 15:25:53

Gall bladder? Pain from bowel can be anywhere depending on which bit is twisted

soop Sat 13-Feb-16 15:26:00

By the way...both portraits of Torres have arrived safely and Tizliz is a happy bunny. They will look very much better when framed.

soop Sat 13-Feb-16 15:26:54

Galen Gall bladder pain is wicked.

soop Sat 13-Feb-16 16:20:12

I am logging off until tomorrow. Scotland play Wales in Cardiff in about half an hour. I wish Scotland all the very best. It would be a tip-top feather in their caps should they win.

Enjoy your evening. Thank you for your company. smile moon

Alea Sat 13-Feb-16 16:24:46

Gall bladder was dispensed with 19 years ago at the transplant. It does seem to hurt more when he moves, but he is not "retaining wind" if you see what I mean, so no "drum like " stomach. Take your point Galen but would a twisted bowel/strangulated hernia not have become acute while this has "come and gone" over a 2 + month period?

annodomini Sat 13-Feb-16 16:30:55

Soop, just finished watching the France/Ireland match which was not pretty. The young man at the 'basket only' checkout wished me a great afternoon and I could hear his jaw dropping when I said cheerfully, 'I'm going home to watch the rugby'.

Alea Sat 13-Feb-16 16:45:38

I agree it was not pretty and I was sorry France didn't get their comeuppance as IMHO the best way to deal with dirty play is simply to WIN.

Galen Sat 13-Feb-16 17:03:37

Could be intermittent due to adhesions. He has had a few intrusions into his abdomen. Is he passing normal motions?

thatbags Sat 13-Feb-16 17:08:00

You improved his education in the process, anno grin

Sympathy for your DH, alea, and you dealing with stuff flowers

wot Sat 13-Feb-16 17:20:05

Speaking of Scotland, which we weren't but still.....I was fascinated to read several books about st. Kilda and how they used to survive on Puffins! And how the soil became barren/contaminatied due to sheep I think.

Charleygirl Sat 13-Feb-16 17:31:54

Alea these things always happen at weekends. With luck he will improve slowly or at least until Monday when your GP should be available.

As for Grace, I quite agree, she should keep her lampshade on because the little minx cannot be trusted. She does enjoy a nibble and if her tail is out of bounds there is always a juicy leg as she has shown previously.

Alea Sat 13-Feb-16 17:39:40

Look away now, those of a sensitive disposition.

No, Galen unusually for him (a 3 a day man, TMI I know) not "been" since yesterday morning shock Farting though. But, no walking, very bland diet and despite nagging, probably not drinking as much as he should.
He suggested the pain might be constipation, but not that much pain after only one day, surely?

annodomini Sat 13-Feb-16 18:47:03

Oh, what a shame. I suppose Wales deserved to win but Scotland somehow didn't deserve to lose! sad

Bellanonna Sat 13-Feb-16 22:40:06

soop. I can't take my eyes off that picture. It's beautiful. You are very talented and I envy you ! I'm sure the owner of the beautiful German Shepherd will be delighted !

numberplease Sat 13-Feb-16 22:55:33

Lovely painting Soop

Nelliemoser Sat 13-Feb-16 23:29:49

Soop That is so good. I wish I had a cat or dog you could draw.

Nelliemoser Sat 13-Feb-16 23:32:28

Alea I hope your OH gets on OK. The stress of all this must be dreadful. (((hugs))) for you.

Alea Sat 13-Feb-16 23:36:34

We're plodding on thanks nelliemoser. If he can get a reasonable night's sleep that will be something, and if he gets worse , well, I will call somebody. Had to cancel lunch at friends tomorrow which is a shame especially as I now have to think of something for us to eat here!
