On the back of the washing thread, I was just wondering what you call your vulva? It seems such an unattractive word to me, so I call mine fufu. Daft I know but there you are. My friend calls hers her lulu. My granddaughter calls hers front bottom. How about you?
A previous poster mentioned "Thruppeny bit" - that's not anything around the lower area (ahem) but in the London I grew up in was rhyming slang for a totally different part of the anatomy.
Like others I mention "vagina" at the doc or hospital and both DH and I refer to our bits as "bits". But I'm charmed by "froufrou" and I may well give DH a bit of a surprise when he comes to bed tonight .....
Thank you Galen. It takes a doctor to keep things anatomical right. I have been thinking about this and don't ever remember having to use the word in 65 years. Hence my confusion.
I could handle any of the names suggested......except for the C word. I associate it with men of my (reluctant) acquaintance who are really vile to women.
My grandmother and mother used to call it 'Mary' of course these were the days that the proper names were not used, why I don't know. I have two daughters, and carried on the tradition of 'Mary' they just think it's funny. My 9 year old granddaughter now says 'Mary' too, although she did say to me when she was about 6yrs old, "you know nan it's actually a Vagina!" Bless.
ethelbags1 I think your thread about washing intimate places is the funniest I've read on here. Your OP was fine, it was just some of the later responses had tears running down my face!
I cant belive we are still on this subject. Anyway to conclude on my part I have just taken my entire 'downthere' for cervical screening. I was told it was the last one I shall be offered so I am officially clinically obsolete 'downthere'.
