Just wondering if anyone else here has done this. I took grade 2 piano at 10 or 11 and had hardly touched a piano ever since - too many decades to mention. After I retired I wanted to do something non domestic, and started again, albeit on a very old and basic keyboard. It had been so long, I virtually had to start again from scratch.
After about a year of working on my own I joined a group lesson, and I'm now in my 3rd year of these. OH later bought me an old piano he found on eBay, which was a major improvement on the old keyboard.
I have since found on the ABRSM forums (one of the exam boards) that there are lots of older beginners out there, on all sorts of instruments. I heard of someone who took up the cello (IIRC) at 70 and had since passed grade 7!
Anyone else out there?
