Apparently, the Invictus was a spin off from the American Warrior Games where a British team took part. Unfortunately, it is openly reported he has been failing basic Army exams since 2005 despite extra help. But what a happy chappy he is doing what he does.

I won't, NotTooOld, it was just something my BF used to say when the spotlight was on him and Chelsy - 'That poor boy, just let him give up any rights to the throne and go and live a happy life in Africa with Chelsy'.

However, that was in the past and he seems to be maturing nicely now, and I hope he finds a worthwhile role.

Jalima - don't send him off to Africa! Harry is that rarity 'a good thing' so let's keep him here. I thought I heard that the Invictus Games will not necessarily become a regular event (it should do) so they would not necessarily provide H with a regular job. I think perhaps William is the unlucky one in being heir to the throne. It must be pretty miserable having your life mapped out like that. At least Harry is a (fairly) free spirit and can make choices about his life.

Think what you like about the Royal Family, I feel sorry for Harry.
Losing his mother at such a young age and knowing his brother is heir to the throne, has his life mapped out, he has not but his life is quite restricted in some ways - and whatever he does or doesn't do the press is watching.

My BF used to say years ago that he should just be allowed to marry whom he wants - Chelsy at the time - and go off to live in Africa, do charitable works and be happy.

He works very closely with the Invictus games, my DD was involved with the games last year and was introduced to him, she was very impressed and said he was marvellous with the competitors, very natural , not pompous or anything. He spent a lot of time with them helping and encouraging these disabled ex servicemen no cameras or journalists about. Perhaps this work could be expanded.

I like Harry. I hope he finds something fulfilling to do, he's not done badly so far. I wonder why he didn't make a career of the army? I know he was supposed to keep away from the front line in Afghanistan but there must be many other useful areas he could be deployed in. He needs a nice wife, too. (Not Pippa).

He does seem a natural with charitable works and is rightly proud of the Invictus Games. Maybe he should take on the Prince's Trust from his father.

His solution may be to marry money. It hasn't done many of his extended family any harm.

He could start with a part time job like his brother does. He needs to pop along to the job centre see what's available

He's good with kids, isn't he? What about a nice TA position? 15k per annum, and he gets all those holidays off too! He could even train as a teacher-just think; all those lovely parents to deal with, and lunch with Nicky Morgan. Gran can help him out with the debt.

A couple of hours weeding in my garden, then take to the dump. Wow he's going to be busy by the look of it.

He's got a big enough car to take over the school run for all four of my GC. Can you imagine the other mums faces

I need the patio relaid and a new shed put up - he looks like a strong young man! Ideal for the job.
