Very strange names for children

I've just seen that a couple in Australia have named their new daughter Kviiilyn as they don't like the traditional spelling of Caitlin. What have they condemned that poor child to? Guarantee that most people will call her K-vill-yn. The parents think that this spelling makes her unique!

Hagar, or perhaps Helia both very nice girls names.

Haydyn, Hellebore, Hattie, Harmonia, Hecate, Hera, Hilaria, Hippolyta? Hetty?

Not Hermione as that has been mentioned (we have one of those!)

I love, Hester, what a lovely old fashioned name.

I'm losing the will to live. I can't think of any more five letter names beginning with H. Please tell us.

Jalima Wed 15-Jun-16 10:03:51

Is it five letters? (Must have missed that).
Fed up now
Henny Penny?
If it's not one of these I give in (don't like giving in)

I am sorry Jalima but my name is not on that list....and I have checked very carefully

Another clue. There is a well known brand of car headlights with my name.

chocolate pudding
Are you Hella?

chocolatepudding Wed 15-Jun-16 11:19:56

Yes

Juggernaut Wed 15-Jun-16 11:30:05

YAY, I got it right!
My husband used to do a bit of car rallying, so I had an advantage, having cleaned Hella lights on more than a few occasions!
I shall smile all the way through weeding the garden nowgringringrin

Well done Juggernaut. I would never have got that. Don' t know one headlight from another
What shall we do know ?

Now

I went to school with triplets called Faith, Hope and Charity. Their father was a church minister.

Juggernaut Wed 15-Jun-16 13:50:18

Pippa000
My dad's middle name was Hope, his two sisters were Faith and Charity.
Mum and I teased him mercilessly for years, saying it shouldn't have been 'Hope' but rather 'Hopeless’!

Jalima Wed 15-Jun-16 14:41:17

I wouldn't have guessed that!
Well done juggernaut

I don't understand Harper as a first name: if homage to the author, her actual name is Nelle Harper Lee, and the connotation of Harper with someone who keeps on and on about the same subject must have escaped the Beckhams.

Luckylegs9 Thu 16-Jun-16 15:00:01

Her name is Harper Seven. In Birmingham one family called their first son, 1 2 3 and their second 4 5 6.?

Nicole Kidman's first daughter was named Sunday Roast Rose

Jalima Thu 16-Jun-16 19:31:20

Does anyone remember a film star called Tuesday Weld?

Bellanonna Thu 16-Jun-16 22:15:17

Oh yes, I do. Must have been around in the 50s? Blonde actress, but don't know much about her. I suppose it's the unusual name that we remember.

mrsmopp Tue 21-Jun-16 23:09:53

What about the mother who wanted to call her daughter Cyanide because it's a really pretty name? Apparently a judge put a stop to it. Absolutely true- I read it in the Daily Mail.
Nearly as bad as Chardonnay??

grannyqueenie Wed 22-Jun-16 07:51:21

I worked with someone who called her baby Dajeunay, none of us knew what to say when we heard, until a rather forthright colleague asked her " you do know you've now got a little breakfast...petit dejeuner?" She didn't!

mrsmopp Wed 22-Jun-16 13:47:06

Grannyqueenie, that's so funny! Actually I think dejeuner means dinner, so maybe she is planning to eat it ! shock
