Today we had family for dinner and afterwards played some Roy Orbison music where she and I danced and I taught her some basic steps for the jive and that when I lifted both our/her arm she would go under at the next beat. (I danced the man's part)
Oh, I did enjoy it.

There are some really big good news there and I'm very happy for you all. I've no such big news. I booked the cleaner (I've not wanted anyone in for a while), booked a massage, bought a new swimdress and will ring disabled swimming baths for timetable. Not much in comparison, but it might help with health conditions.

I have had a lovely day with DS, like someone said, it's only reported when there is a problem. So no, today he's been lovely.

Helped care for littlest grandchild who now recognises us and holds his arms up for a snuggle. Bliss. .

Positive plans Rubylady. I often think planning ahead can give as much pleasure as the actual event.

Glad things went well with DS yesterday.

In 5 weeks time I'm retiring and moving to be near my daughters after being 2.5 hours journey away for years. I can't wait,

i am off to Rome tomorrow with my beautiful daughter for a city break with lots of site seeing and the good news is, guaranteed sunshine for a few days!!!!!

carer123 one of the things I like to do in Rome is get the metro and get off at Colloseo, I think it is magic you are on the metro in the 20th century and come out of the station and look at the Collisium I always feel it is a "Dr Who" moment

Got the go.ahead for.a.hip replacement last week. Got used to putting up with the pain. Looking forward to getting my life back. Got to see a consultant in July, it's like reaching the top level of a tricky computer game. Hallelujah.

Good news today -- we are all going to the zoo, bad news, it's chucking it down, so we may be getting wet.

Liz 46, I can empathise with you. I love your comment about being penniless by end of the day. We went into buy a sound book for our 6 month old granddaughter ( a miracle IVF baby, we have waited 12 yrs for) and spent nearly £40 on books etc. I am so glad to hear your granddaughter is on the mend, the wee lamb.

Our eldest son just sent me a text to say that he has been fast-tracked for promotion in his firm and has been given the senior manager's position that he expected to work another 5-10 years for!!

I am so pleased because he could have gone to work in London for one of the big financial firms, but chose instead to live and work locally and now it's really paid off for him.

I'm so glad this thread exists because The Wonderful Man isn't home yet (he's been away) and I wanted to tell someone.

Great news for you GA and it is great to have our grown up children living locally.

Also, I hope your DH appreciates being called The Wonderful Man......the only husband on the forum who is!

GA, that's wonderful news. You must be so proud of your son. And, come to think of it, he has a wonderful mum too.

My sewing machine came back after it's first service( in 15 years )as good as new and I've made a cushion and nearly finished a quilt.

Went to our dance lesson tonight (rumba) , and for a change it went well, tutor is starting to get picky now, worrying about our hands as well as our feet, multitasking . Will we remember it by our next lesson on Thursday ?

Not so good news, one of my bees stung me today, now I can't move my finger. Somewhat surprised that they haven't stung me before.

I bought three pairs of summer trousers. 2 sizes smaller since I have lost 2 1/2 stone.

I had breakfast with two of my best friends and have spent a happy afternoon cross stitching. Oh and the sun was shining!

I've got my dgd overnight so there will be fun and cuddles galore tomorrow
