Whenever my brother borrowed the mower it always came back with a few inches missing from the cable! ??

A neighbour was trimming his trees one year and fell off the ladder and cut through the cable and ended up in A&E he was very lucky to be alive!

willow I was in A&E with my Mum when a lady was brought in after slipping on the grass and going under the lawnmower ! both feet were shredded !

Yes mine has done that several times - and the lawnmower too when we had an electric one! He also ended up in A&E after nearly losing his thumb when he and a 'friend' were cutting up logs with a chainsaw - he was holding the wood - the friend slipped with the blade!

My dad bought a rotary lawnmower many years ago when rotary lawnmowers were a very new thing. One day while he was cutting the lawn the blade jammed. Typically, he lifted the mower and gave the blade a nudge with his toe, which did the trick and the blade span round before he could fully remove his foot . The first we knew about it was when he came in the back door, laughing his head off, and showed us his shoe, with a penny (old penny) sized hole neatly sliced off over his big toe. AND a similar hole sliced in his sock. His toe, amazingly, was unmarked. No wonder he was laughing - what a lucky escape he'd had

Not the wire, but the rotary washing line. A big shrub was so close to it that I couldn't use all three sides. Now I remember to retract the line, like an umbrella, before I set to with the trimmer.

When the garden shed got burgled a couple of years ago the hedgetrimmer was taken so I looked for another and found a 'Titan' from Screwfix. It is a beast. I didn't have the same deal, so I took it somewhere and had it repaired.

I'm not very good with them I have to say......

I love my G#### (not sure if I am allowed to name it) cordless hedge cutter. It is so light, I can now do the whole hedge in one session and don't have to nag wait patiently for OH to get it done.

DH use to do it on such a regular basis that in the end we had to get a cordless one! It got to the stage where, when he used to take it in to be repaired, it was "Oh dear, not again Mr K!" Needless to say, circuit breakers are the order of the day in this house.

I haven't - but DH has!! It's definitely men's work in my book!

Only once . It was fairly close to the plug end so I repaired it by shifting the plug betond the cut bit. ?
