What to get my grandson for his birthday

Our grandson turned 10 a few weeks back and we got him a pair of proper binoculars from the RSPB - entry level but good quality. About 50 quid. We took him to Rutland Water to see the osprey chicks and other birds, and he was delighted.

He seemed to be very specific about the ones is and if style boots, so why not ask him to give you a list of ,say, 10 things he would be happy to receive and you pick one of them.

He gets something he will like, but It's still a surprise.

Perhaps he's very tall and needed the binoculars to see his new boots?

He hates reading so highly unlikely he would want a Shakespeare book :-)

Complete works of Shakespeare is a bit more than just a book. However if he hates reading maybe, as a conscientious gran, you should be trying to encourage him to hone his reading skills. It's quite useful to be a good coñfident reader. Does he have any career aspirations yet that might suggest an appropriate present?

How about a hard back copy of '101 ways to dupe a Granny and giggle a lot afterwards' by U.R. Sust. Available in all good books shops from a while ago. Unless of course, he already has a copy. Would be a shame to get a duplicate gift.

There's a good DVD out called "Watching Paint Dry". Compared to this thread it might be a bit too exciting.
