I just googled former PM Harold Wilson, to check it was he who said in the 60's that 'A week in politics is a long time', and this has certainly been a long week.
Apparently he wasn't the first politician to refer to major events occurring in short time spans in politics, as Joseph Chamberlain said in 1886 that ‘In politics, there is no use in looking beyond the next fortnight.’
The world moves quicker in 2016 and Boris has had enough after just a few days thinking about being a contender for the top job. Interesting times indeed!
