breeze do not believe it. I have had all the things happen that you mention and when overweight, including a sales assistant ripping open the curtains of an indvidual cubicle, exposing me to everybody in the shop (and street) when she realised I was not going to buy the dress I had tried on.
It is not that these things don't happen, it is just I find the best way to react to them is with indifference, because actually people are so busy with their own dress experiences that they rarely notice.
I fully understand your concerns, we all have things we worry about, it is just this is one that doesn't bother me.
Do you notice what else is happening in a changing room? I don't.

. But seriously, whatever makes you happy and you're right, it's hit and miss with online shopping. It's been a godsend for me, for reasons I won't bore you with but I'm afraid I'm just not that confident to display myself in changing rooms anymore. Even when I was a lot younger I'd try to find the ones with the private cubicles because it's an awful feeling trying something on that looked good on the hanger, then finding 'you' ruined it by shoving yourself into it! All I can say is, thank the lord online shopping happened when I needed it.
