Since trades unions were so formative in the development of the Labour Party, I'm thinking about them and wondering what pissification gransnetters can come up with for union acronyms.
Let's kick off with the NUT: nutjobs union (as in you have to be to be a teacher 
) JOKE ALERT!
They'll just say "it's not funny", anya. Which is fine. No-one is obliged to find it funny. Anyway, there's a difference between amusing and funny (they won't separate those notions either 
). The thread title was quite clear. I think some people just lurve disapproving and can't stop themselves, poor things.

Your first comment is important. It's only people who have confidence in a thing who can also laugh at it. Nothing is perfect.
Not, of course, that anyone was laughing at trades unions. The amusement was afforded by acronyms that happen to be associated with trades unions and trades unions happened into my brain because of current political happenings. I thought I made that clear in the OP but clearly not clearly enough for some.
