As they have never had a Royal family that is a stupid comparison. Do you seriously believe that if the money currently being spent on royal protection was instead used to improve police provision for ordinary people there would be no noticeable effect? Because certainly most of the police believe more money would improve things. But obviously you know better.

So you think that somehow it would be cheaper not to have a Royal family and that crime could be mopped up by all the spare police and security availability? Doesn't work that way in America it would seem...

Of course they will not have been affected by the cuts in the police service Theresa May presided over as Home secretary. Wilma, we do not know the costs of the windsors, we are not allowed to know what we pay for their security or the security of all their homes. We do not know how many tourists come the the UK to see the windsors or how many would still come here if the windsors were no more. So much is kept from the public to protect the windsors millions
