??

Pittcity Mon 22-Aug-16 09:00:29

Surely we have all qualified for the Paralympics?

NonnaW Mon 22-Aug-16 09:07:41

Wonderful thread, I have so enjoyed reading it. So funny. Congratulations to all you medal winners, you did us proud!

Maggiemaybe Mon 22-Aug-16 10:23:38

Already in training, NanKate. See you there smile

Charleygirl Mon 22-Aug-16 11:20:26

Pittcity provided my sponsors are up for it, I will be there, at the Para Olympics I mean. I was only practising at the main Olympics, to see what I could get away with.

fiorentina51 Mon 22-Aug-16 12:30:01

Preparing for the Commonwealth Games in 2018 as I type.
The balancing coffee cup, laptop and slice of lemon drizzle cake on one knee event. ?

We can't forget about the Paralympics! (Let's face it, some of us are probably well qualified, at least if you're allowed Zimmer frames and support bandages as well as prosthetic limbs...)

I am tall, blond and beautiful, and I would like to enter for Pathological Lying.

Charleygirl Sat 27-Aug-16 17:56:20

Jalima are you suggesting that GNs are nutters? Surely not, I have never "met" such a rational group in my life before.

Onwards and upwards for the Para Olympics- I think it starts in the 5th September. I may be a week late because my car needs a full service and MOT and I believe I cannot put that off for another year. The company know perfectly well what I am doing in in the Para O but would not give me an inch. I will not be asking them to sponsor us lot.

Well there is a certain lady who is unfortunatly on crutches
That I am hoping to join in GN panto auditions (the Sand Dance with crutches!)
I might ask her if she would like to join me in perhaps a three legged crutch race confused.

Charleygirl Sat 27-Aug-16 18:06:11

It is annsixty who has recently had a total knee replacement. She will be up for it but please, it is too soon for her to have her knee replaced so treat her gently.

annsixty Sat 27-Aug-16 18:51:31

Yes it is I annsixty to quote Rene from Allo Allo. I am 20 days post op but will be fighting fit by the panto season?

annsixty Sat 27-Aug-16 18:52:36

Certainly by the next Olympics?

I think Samanta95 has just qualified for the offensive message deletion sprint final.

So quick I didn't even see it!

annsixty Wed 07-Sept-16 18:04:01

Well where are you all? I am here with my crutch and my best shorts and vest top. Must I represent GN on my own? ?

Tizliz Wed 07-Sept-16 18:35:09

sorry missed my plane, they don't make allowances at the airport for the distance to the flight gate. Will try again tomorrow

annsixty Wed 07-Sept-16 18:38:35

I should hope so!!

NanaandGrampy Wed 07-Sept-16 18:43:34

I'm still in duty free !! Save me a seat Tizliz

Pittcity Wed 07-Sept-16 20:13:54

Just need a bit more lippy for the Opening ceremony!

Wobblybits Wed 07-Sept-16 20:15:49

OPENING CEREMONY ?? are we talking wine here ?, count me in.

Cherrytree59 Wed 07-Sept-16 20:19:03

ann I've let you down!
sad
I don't get my crutches to the
16th
Still up for the three legged hobble,
Got ankle brace does that count?

Charleygirl Wed 07-Sept-16 20:21:09

I am going 1st class so I will meet the rest of you at Rio. My passport is out of date but I am sure that will not matter. My driving licence will do instead.

I have not decided yet what I will be doing. I have never used a wheelchair - I do not want to cause an accident, I can do that on my own.

I am interested in the diving, and Jalima and I no doubt will be doing the 100 yard walk- we should manage that even if it is very hot.

Cherrytree59 Wed 07-Sept-16 20:26:45

wobblybits do you think grandad's shed and garden would be ok for the opening ceremony?
we could bring our own grape juice wine

Wobblybits Wed 07-Sept-16 20:36:28

We would have to give it a spring clean and oust the mice and spiders, but with some bunting, it would be perfect.
