Kipling bags

Is anyone a fan of these bags? I'm tempted to treat myself, as I have several leather bags but nowadays I find them rather heavy when I've put all my stuff inside. I like the idea I of a fabric bag, lightweight, can go in the washing machine and hold all my bits and pieces. Some are a bit pricey, but hey, so what!

Me and eBay had had a falling out so I decided to bankrupt them by not buying anything on there ever again ! !

Old joke.
Young man to dizzy girl: Do you like Kipling?
Dizzy girl: Ooh, I don't know, I've never kippled!

I haven't read all the thread MrsMopp so forgive me if someone has already mentioned them but have you tried looking at "Healthy Back Bags"?

I bought one to try as a shoulder bag hurts my back and now have several in different sizes. I use one as my carry on bag too. Some can be washed by machine.

My dd gave me a bag with a gorilla attached, does that mean its a Kipling?! I Only know the cakes!!

Willow500 Sat 13-Aug-16 17:00:45

I keep looking at them and am tempted but have too many bags already to warrant buying another at the price. I might look on e-bay then smile

Reminds me of a line in Me & My Girl...."Do you like Kipling?....."Dunno, I've never Kippled!"

I do like the bags though.

Absolutely my favourite bags. I love the fabric and the bright colours and patterns. And always lots of pockets, and also they are very strongly made and last for ages.
And they are lightweight- I hate heavy bags.
I've only got 2, but when I win the lottery I shall buy a least 20 more grin

Googled them- not impressed. The best bag I ever bought was a fabric rucksack from Primark. Cost about £7. Really useful when pushing GCs buggie or mum's wheelchair. Has been washed and repaired. Next most expensive was from TK Max. For the price of these I could buy a bag and hundreds of cakes!

If you look on eBay and Amazon there is a brand of bags called Fantasy which are very similar to Kipling and a fraction of the price. You will also find them on market stalls. The bag stall in our mini mall sells them.

I've got three and I love them too! Hate the gorilla though, and so does my dgd, so it gets binned!

BlueBelle Sat 13-Aug-16 09:16:50

I d never heard of them either shysal and think I can live without

Talking of handbags, did anyone see the non-slip bag straps on Dragon's Den? I have sloping shoulders so bought one for my handbag and another for my sports bag. Not exactly elegant, but they are fantastic!
i-stay bag strap
I had never heard of Kipling . The ones on Ebay look a bit too crumpled and scruffy for the price, I don't think they are for me.

love kipling bags, if I see one I like on Qvc I always google the bag and get it cheaper on Amazon. One bag I bought was half the price on Amazon than what it was being sold at on Qvc!

hildajenniJ Sat 13-Aug-16 08:46:45

I got mine from QVC when it was offered as a Today's Special Value item. I love it, although I don't use it all that often. The bag I get the most use from is a back pack type bag. It goes with me when I'm travelling as I can carry or wheel my luggage and it frees up my hands.

mrsmopp Sat 13-Aug-16 00:10:14

Yes I agree, I must be brave now. Never bought or sold on eBay and I know I'm missing out. I have masses of stuff to get rid of too so it does make sense. There are loads of bargains on there.

Marelli Fri 12-Aug-16 23:34:50

Cross-body's are best for me, too, mrsmopp. Have you had a wee look on eBay? There are loads and loads of them! If you're worried about bidding, you can go for 'Buy it Now'. It's all really very easy. smile

mrsmopp Fri 12-Aug-16 23:12:49

Marelli, can you get one for me? A nice cross body one so my hands are free. I will be your friend if you do that. I've never bought anything on eBay.

Coolgran65 Fri 12-Aug-16 21:52:09

Just to say I was fortunate to get one for £7, however I've never paid more than about £15. Also, I try to 'watch' until the very end and then make my maximum bid at about 12 seconds left.

BlueBelle Fri 12-Aug-16 21:48:33

Never heard of them will now have to go and Google

Marelli Fri 12-Aug-16 21:36:19

This thread has made me go on Ebay....I'm now 'watching' 4 Kipling bags - and I've got 4 already blush

Coolgran65 Fri 12-Aug-16 21:30:17

And I then sell the monkey on eBay for £4 or £5......win win

Coolgran65 Fri 12-Aug-16 21:28:50

Amazon can be good for Kipling prices but I find eBay much better. I have 4 in slightly different styles. At the start of the summer I bought a cream Kipling messenger bag listed as used but it was in perfect condition for £7. I never buy them new as they can easily be machine washed. Just check with the seller before buying that all zips are working and that there is no damage.

Christinefrance Fri 12-Aug-16 21:22:05

My favourite bags, I have several in different colours. So many useful pockets etc . Often come up at a sale price on good old Amazon.

Marelli Fri 12-Aug-16 20:52:51

Love Kipling bags! They are so lightweight, washable and easy to see into as well, because the linings are usually pale-coloured. Loads of easily accessible, but secure pockets - and I don't mind the gorilla. He/she can be removed easily enough, anyway. smile

Pittcity Fri 12-Aug-16 20:39:36

Got mine in TKMAXX for a great price. Room for everything, waterproof and machine washable. The gorilla sucks his thumb too!
