The Daft Things You Do

This evening I thought I would go for a brisk walk before making tea. I had left my walking shoes in the car the previous day so went outside in my slippers and rather than go back indoors sat on the back door step to change into my trainers. It was only when I stood up that I realized my mistake. We have a coir mat on the top step (to stop our elderly dog slipping on the tiles) and there had been heavy rain the night before. Talk about soggy bottoms!! ? (Waddles off like Charlie Chaplin)

I love your mum's sense of logic (and humor). ?

P.s. What a shame about the watch. Particularly as it had sentimental value. I hope that it was replaced with one she really likes.

That fact is Rosieroe the face of the watch was too small for her to read the time. She only wore it for sentimental reasons and continues to wear it despite the works being totally knackered! My brother knows a watchmaker and has offered to have it repaired but she won't part with it even for a few weeks! ?

Linsco - I have a watch that I keep for sentimental reasons too, so I understand your Mum's feelings. My family bought it for me for my 50th, (I'm 80 now) wore it for ages , then went swimming in the sea with it on about 10 years ago and ruined it.
I wear it occasionally.

ps I took the watch to a watchmaker and he said the salt in the sea water had corroded the parts and it couldn't be repaired. I suppose you could replace the works entirely, but not sure about the casing, if that's badly damaged. Mine wasn't.

What a pity TriciaF ☹️ salt water will do that every time!
My aunt used to live by the coast and had to replace her car every 2 or 3 years due to salt corrosion.

Oops - almost used hairspray instead of deodorant. Mustn't leave them side by side again - I could have spent the day saluting everyone! ?

Put the panty liner in my knickers the wrong way round. Sticky side up. OUCH !

Ha ha - that so reminds me of the Mrs Brown's Boys sketch where she tried using hair removal strips! ? ??

Have used deodorant instead of hair spray. It does brush out quite easily grin.
