All good friends and
JOLLY GOOD COMPANY
Welcome...
soop I hope himself is feeling much better. Lovely pics of you both!
Oh Daphne you need this like a hole in the head. I think that you have been doing far, far too much but who listens to me? That was some houseful of visitors and all at various ages with their different demands. No doubt young Flynn just sat there smiling.
Once Grace is sorted, you must retire to bed. I am hoping that DH can at least make himself and even you a cup of tea.
It is too cold for Tara to go out this morning and she is a moaning Minnie, not understanding that I am doing it for her own good and welfare.
Oh no Daphne. Hope you had a lovely long lie and wake up feeling much better
Daphne the best thing is warm drinks, perhaps paracetamol and to hibernate in the warm.
I hope you feel better soon, I can sympathise.
I hope Grace does not demand any walkies, tell her the garden will have to do for a few days.
Good Morning all !!
A day of rest for us amidst the chaos today ! Its going to be lovely . Looking at and putting away our presents ( I was very lucky I must have been good !!)
Love the pictures Kitty what a pair of cuties ! Hope you're feeling better.
Bellasnana what a little princess your DGD is ...how charming is her dress? I love to see little girls dressed up and she looks beautiful .
Oh no soop hope Macs is not suffering too much from the bump on the head !!
Lovely family photo Lona ..that for me is what its all about !
I tried a number of times to get a picture of everyone with no success but they are all here again on the 30th so Ill try again .
Sorry to hear you're unwell Daphne , I hope you get well soon .What a time of year to go down with a bump.
We had a lovely Christmas, the first in 40 years I did not do the Christmas lunch and between you, me and the gatepost I could get used to that !!
Took lots of pictures but I'll just leave you with this one today ...its one of my favourites .
Lovely to see grampy, Jackson and Cooper so happy. I think that you deserve a break from cooking if you have done it for the last 40 years. I would be thinking up excuses for next Christmas- cannot plan too early.
I have let the werewolf out before she upset anybody else other than me. Zero degrees C is too cold for her but she knows best. At least I managed to keep her in until 10am. so that was an achievement. She started flicking items off my printer such as a biro and my glasses so that assisted her exit.
At least the sun is out and the fog has vanished.
Oh dear Daphne you need to rest yourself and leave the chores! I agree with Charleygirl, you've been doing too much.
NandG that's a great photo!
It's a beautiful sunny, frosty day here, I really should get out of my pjs!
My three little elves Lona
. I also had a princess and Thor lol . Funny kids.
I agree Charley I best get my plans in order
. It's crisp here so Grampy and Sam will be heading out soon. Sam looks quite 'portly' today but I think it's just coat. The colds kicked in and he's grown his full winter coat.
Luckily we have just got a great deal on a hoover online from John Lewis. Excellent price, free delivery and a 6 year warranty!!! I love a bargain without leaving the house :-)
DaphneB, so sorry you`re not well, hope you feel a little better this morning? Isn`t there anyone free to stay a couple of days and look after you?
I was already cold, but got even colder fetching the bin back, the binmen left it, as usual, right at the far end of the alley round the back. They don`t have to pick heavy bins up and carry them anymore, so why is it so difficult to just wheel them back?
Nothing planned for today, apart from washing.
Dear DaphneB
My guess is that you are run down and need a good, long, comfortable, uninterrupted rest from all the busyness of the festive season.
Charleygirl MacS sat throughout the gathering at a pal's house wearing a woolly, beanie hat. Seven of the guests present were fully aware of the damage done to his fragile scalp. Three seemed bemused. Our pal took them to one side to explain the whys and wherefores. The damage is substantial. In fact, MacS has had to cancel a regular appointment with the dermatologist. Every so often, he has suspect "stuff and nonsense" zapped from his sacalp with a magic gizmo.
Our broadband speed is 4.5-ish when the wind's in the right direction.
corner I've been ironing for my friend. Her 80 year-old mother (who was so with-it at this time last year) is giving her cause for serious concern. Within twelve months, the lady who was feisty and the life and soul of the party, is a different person. She sleeps for almost the entire day and night. She refuses help around the house. She is failing fast. She won't entertain the idea of talking things through with her GP. Our friend is beside herself with worry. Mother lives alone in Glasgow. She could live with her daughter but refuses to consider the options that are offered to her.
Jane19 and Jalima I trust that the poorly DaphneB pays attention to your good advice.
NanaandGrampy Yet another very special photograph.
Lona Your house. Your pyjamas. Your decision. Enjoy!
callgirl1 Snap! I need to load to load the washing machine. Thanks for reminding me.
I thought that you might like to see the wonderful quilted wall-hanging made by our pal's two talented friends. It took several months to create. Was gifted to her on the occasion of her 50th birthday. She's now 60.
MacSporran gave me a beautiful Peruvian Connection top for Christmas. I shall add a photo.
soop I seriously think that *MacSporran should be on tea or coffee for the foreseeable future. I did not realise that he had done such serious damage to his scalp- he must feel a total idiot. He must be careful that it does not become infected. I will be be visiting to give him the New Year lecture!
N&G a 6 year warranty for a hoover is very good and the good price and free delivery are bonuses. I do not think that there is anything else that I need to buy- I bought a measuring tape for £3 in Dunelm Mill and I was asked if that was all I was buying- yes was my reply. I am trying to get rid via Freecycle of a wonky 5 drawer chest of drawers. I cannot buy a replacement until I get rid of this and to date I was charged £70 for disposal.
callgirl1 To load the washing machine once, is quite enough.
Oh wow! That's is a beautiful top soop and it suits you so well, I love it!
The wall hanging is superb too
Charleyg It isn't a mere graze. The chest of drawers against which MacS fell, is part wicker-work. Five very large areas of his scalp are missing. TCP applied at regular intervals. He's such a lovely man. Morning after the event, he apologised profusely and sincerely.
Lona Hasn't he good taste? Mind you, I did give a subtle hint...or two.
soop I know that it not a graze and it must also be painful.
That is a very different and beautiful top- it suits you to a T.
I also love the wall hangings, very talented people.
Tut! Apart from ironing, I haven't done a thing, (other than blether with ^you lot.^)
I shall say farewell until the morrow. Flick a duster nonchalantly aboot the hoos, and appear to be busy.
Cold day but dry. Until tomorrow, lots of love.
xx
Good afternoon everybody.
I had missed mcsporran's mishap ,but it sounds very nasty and I hope that it will soon mend (have you tried vinegar and brown paper?) Naughty!
soop I am speechless with admiration at that gorgeous present, it is truly stunning and I hope you have some events imminent at which it can be admired? Now I am not suggesting that I could possibly covet such a piece of gorgeousness but if you ever can't find it, there might be an orderly queue of suspects with me at the front!
Thank you for good wishes from everybody, it is just a cold I think as my appetite has not gone, judging by this box of chocs
, but I think exhaustion has played a part, the drive to and from Birmingham on Christmas Eve would normally require an early night or a nap the next day rather than feeding the 5,000 and sleeping on the sofa bed to make sure the dogs were OK in the night. As it turned out I needn't have worried, Grace slept through both nights but when it is just us I sleep with the bedroom door open so that I can hear her if she needs to go out.
Anyway, we have a fridge and freezer full of food and no need to go anywhere until next Tuesday (London, Royal Free) apart from locally for blood tests so I can hunker down. There are times when having no social commitments is a positive blessing! I would have been distraught if this had been a week ago.
There is again a lot of bickering elsewhere, don't some people know when they are well off?
I am absolutely fine slobbing around taking care of myself thank you as you can see DH is also feeling the effects of having lots of people around!!
Daphne I hope that it is only a cold and does not progress to one of the horrendous viruses around. A few days rest will do you the world of good. I am amazed that Grace is not on the rug close to your DH as she is frequently having a nap on it.
I must have missed the bickering- I will stay well clear.
At least you will not be spending much time slaving over a hot stove- make use of what is in your freezer.
I hope that you feel better soon.
Love the new top Soop, I want one!
