Charleyg I meant to say, well done for transforming your over-stuffed wardrobe into a thing of beauty. grin

soop Sun 01-Jan-17 14:05:43

Bellanonna May 2017 be kind to you. sunshine

Charleygirl Sun 01-Jan-17 14:14:07

soop I can actually see what is hanging up! I have to be ruthless and give more to charities.

So pleased to hear that Rory is feeling a bit better today. As I have said before he does not go anywhere to catch a bug and he certainly does not mix with other cats except Bracken and she is well.

soop Sun 01-Jan-17 15:07:08

Charleyg It's a mystery. Here are a few pics for you...not taken today.

soop Sun 01-Jan-17 15:08:19

I'm ashamed to say that you can see the layer of dust on the piano keys.tchblush

Charleygirl Sun 01-Jan-17 15:13:06

soop his eyes are open in 2 out 3 of the pictures- was he okay then?! He is so handsome and content.

soop re the keys, close the piano, simples.

Lona Sun 01-Jan-17 15:25:57

That's a fabulous woolly soop, is it a coat, cardi or a wrap? It looks very glamourous! If you got it from eBay I'll be very impressed as it looks expensive to me.

soop Sun 01-Jan-17 16:29:48

Charleyg Rory has lot a little weight. Bracken may have gained a little. smile

Lona It's a cape...made from Welsh wool, in Wales, and a gift from MacSporran to me some thirteen years ago. It weighs as much a five sheep. Very snug.

Photo of the first Kintyre sunset of 2017. Taken at 4:pm.

soop Sun 01-Jan-17 16:31:15

Good night to all our lovely Granspals. I shall return tomorrow. (((hugs))) to one and all.

Charleygirl Sun 01-Jan-17 16:47:04

soop I hope that Rory is better tomorrow and that he is enjoying his chicken. It is not good if he is losing weight- I do not suppose that he would like a holiday here with Tara? Difficult to get the minx here!

I agree, that cape looks very smart. You are lucky you had sunshine in your neck of the woods. At least the fog has gone, just a miserable grey, wet day.

TriciaF Sun 01-Jan-17 18:50:52

Coming back to your thread for some peace and balance, Soop!
Dust on the piano keys - I'm (sadly) thinking of giving up on mine, after 2 winters when the b....y mice have chewed some of the innards. Repairable but expensive.
And I've found it harder to play for long because of damage to right shoulder.
I'll miss my sessions attempting to play - mainly simple Bach, Gershwin, Billy Joel, Chopin, Mozart etc. Plus books of Geordie songs.
I can still listen on youtube.
Best wishes for a healthy New Year to everyone.

TriciaF Sun 01-Jan-17 18:53:47

ps hoping Rory improves, - our old cat age about 14 sleeps more but still snacks regularly on her croquettes.

grannyqueenie Sun 01-Jan-17 23:44:54

That sunset, wow!

NanaandGrampy Mon 02-Jan-17 09:35:08

Good morning lovely kitcheners and Happy New Year one and all.

Back to the routine today !! I think I'm quietly pleased smile

Good morning Ann hope you're ok and echo Charleys thoughts - is there anything we can do ?

Daphne that is an adorable photo of your young man . He is a charmer for sure. I love his little hat! We too have had ham and eggs - a favourite of Grampys .

Is Rory poorly * soop*? I missed that in the Christmas chaos here. I hope he's on the mend already!

Well said GrannieQueenie I second that . ( Although my 'old boy' would harrumph if he heard me refer to him as such smile)

Today will be a day of finding homes for new things and returning old things to their rightful home. Despite giving away lots of food and snacks we still seem to have too much so no dieting will be going on here until that's all gone.

I'm hoping to get into my craft room for a little tidying and I got lots of 'crafty ' gifts so they all need a home. I cannot work with an untidy desk !!

I hope you all have something today that makes you smile x

Charleygirl Mon 02-Jan-17 11:07:12

N&G if you cannot work with an untidy desk you would never use my computer!

I loved the photos of Jackson and Cooper and also the one of the other 2 "children" in the photo, their parents! They appear to be a very happy family. I hope that Sam is back to his normal routine.

soop that is a beautiful sunset. We have sunshine here for once, very pleasant. My silk duvet did not turn up on Friday or Saturday so the company may keep it permanently.

DaphneBroon Mon 02-Jan-17 11:27:53

Last day of slobbing the "holiday". And what a bright sunny morning it is here too, if a bit chilly.
I really need to get my arse into gear get motivated as we have a London hospital visit tomorrow and are then bringing DD and Flynn back for a few days while Daddy is in Hong Kong. Hence my last lie-in!!
Hoping Rory is perking up, a poorly pet is like a sick child and all the more worrying because they do not always appreciate that we are trying to help.
What do you all think about decs? I plan to leave the tree up to the bitter end and the garlands and fairy lights as it disguises the fact that the house needs a good clean!! I meant to say, makes it all look festive of course.
Can't resist another one I am afraid, this was Flynn being stopped for speeding up the M1 to visit Granny.("Drinking, officer? Just milk, but it might have been infused with Prosecco!")

annsixty Mon 02-Jan-17 11:48:11

Good morning all. Beautiful day here. I have come for a restorative cuppa. I stupidly got involved on an unpleasant thread by not wanting another poster to be berated for pointing an untruth out. Then I couldn't let it go. I have learned my lesson.H had a fall last night fortunately our son was here. He first told me he had fallen downstairs and then that he had fallen out of bed. As he was by the bedroom door we assumed he was on his way to the bathroom. He knows nothing about it this morning!!

Charleygirl Mon 02-Jan-17 12:00:39

Daphne you really must take more care of Flynn, allowing him out on the M1 by himself in this weather? It is far too cold for that little mite, unless of course he was helped with warmed milk.

ann a good job that your son was there. Maybe he will realise what you live with 24/7.

soop I do hope that Rory is better.

NanaandGrampy Mon 02-Jan-17 12:02:01

Its easy when you're passionate about something to get sucked in Ann . I'm not really posting much elsewhere unless its factual stuff like dentists and such simply because I refuse to be dragged down into negativity. When I read some of the threads, they are either unbelievably sad or cross. And quite frankly I have decided life is to short smile

So let me offer you some shortbread to go with that cuppa and maybe some chit chat about nothing of any great importance !!

Your poor husband - what a cruel illness but perhaps in this case as he remembers nothing about his fall- for the best !

NanaandGrampy Mon 02-Jan-17 12:06:56

I'm sorry Daphne but young Flynn might be just what I need this morning...complete with his walker !!

Sam is looking a little 'portly' this morning . Now that might JUST be winter coat but I suspect several days spent with his co-conspirators the children have meant a snack too far.

So , I see a few good walks in his future and no snacks. I'm not sure he will like the new regime !

My desk must be tidy or I am distracted by far more interesting things than bill payments. smile AND I got some new crafty things for my hobby so would much rather play with them than do admin .

DaphneBroon Mon 02-Jan-17 12:58:14

Well annsixty you did not deserve THAT! brew and flowers
Can you credit that people would be so self centred and unfeeling in RL? I am happy to say I have not encountered many, indeed ANY.
Fortunately the kitchen is an acid-free zone and long may it remain so.
I do apologise charleygirl for sending Flynn out on the roads by himself, but he is very independent you know!
He also tried "Walking in the air" but got stuck around Junction 13 when it got too sunny and he was in danger of melting

soop Mon 02-Jan-17 13:26:31

Good afternoon dear Kitchener Granspals and portly pets. It's nippy outdoors. Red nose weather. Dry, sunny and therefore seasonal.

Rory isn't sneezing as often as he did at the end of last week. He is picky with his food, MacSporran has therefore three dishes on offer...tuna, chicken and a gourmet recipe. Rory, being a cat, takes his time to sniff out the most appealing offering. One thing is for sure, Rory has never had it so good.

TriciaF Lovely of you to pop into the kitchen. You are most welcome. The more the merrier...especially if you come with cupcake and left-over chocs. Having said that, the truth of the matter is, that since 28th of December' I've been cutting down on ALL goodies AND pedalling the exercise bike. tchshock Why, you may ask? I've granddaughter's wedding to think about. The outfit is in the wardrobe. I was beginning to find it an impossibility difficult to fasten the zip on my jeans (which happen to be a size larger than the outfit.)
Our friend had the same problem with mice destroying her piano. Would a table-top keyboard be a suitable replacement?

granniequeenie The summer sunsets over the Paps of Jura are the most spectacular. I shall look one out for you.

NanaandGrampy Keep crafting. You are amazing.

DaphneB Flynn's expressive face always puts a smile on the faces of us lot. He's such a fun character. Our wee mascot.
Your home. Your decorations. Your dust. Keep them up until you feel like doing boring stuff - polishing, vacuuming, blah blah.

annsixty How I wish that your son could be of on-going support. Your husband could easily have fallen down the stairs. A bad fall at his age would almost certainly mean a stay in hospital. The GP should be informed if such a thing happens again. flowers

soop Mon 02-Jan-17 13:29:45

granniequeenie a summer sunset for you. Taken on 24th June.

soop Mon 02-Jan-17 13:31:08

Flynn the snowman. Love the carrot on the hat. Adorable. xxx

Charleygirl Mon 02-Jan-17 13:59:34

Daphne I forgot that young Flynn has an older brother. Mum, brother and Flynn are having a great time. Lovely to see a well loved brought up young man. I also loved the carrot. I have 3 spare if he loses that one.

soop is MacSporran not aware of the number of starving people around? Rory has a better choice of menu than Tara, hers has been the same prescription menu for around 9 years- she still runs to it when she comes home.

Seriously giving him so much choice may mean that he turns his nose up on everything put in front of him. I would give him wet and dry but not a choice except maybe daily but certainly not 3 dishes on display.
