Gillybob, sorry about " the boys out back" , but not long to go now. Have you survived the storm and high winds? If so, you have had a good day.
Here's to tomorrow

Good Morning Sunday 23rd August 2926
I am normally quite a negative sort of person. A pessimist. A glass that never had anything in it, in the first place. Someone who believes that if it can go wrong then it undoubtedly, will. A miserable cow
Strangely (for me)I woke this morning with a feeling that I haven't experienced for so long I can't remember the last time. I felt that today was going to be a good day. Don't know how. Or why.
It is 1.15 as I type this and wonder when my cut off time should be? shall I stay awake until midnight just in case I miss the "good thing" ? How will I know if and when it has happened?

Maybe it is just a sign that you can have better days gillybob - the more the better..... Fill that glass up girl and I hope you wake up feeling just as/if not more, positive tomorrow ?......
Spring is definitely in the air ????
Morning gilly was yesterday a good day ?
Good morning everyone.
A lovely sunny morning here on the North East coast.
Yes I have survived the storm Auntieflo
we have been quite fortunate up here compared with some places.
I do hope you are right jogginggirl I didn't wake up with the same positive feeling this morning as I did yesterday, but it's Friday and the sun is shining and I am determined to make the most of it and have a good day.
Well yesterday wasn't a particularly good day grannypiper but there again it wasn't a bad one either. I finished the book I was reading (My name is Leon, by Kit De Waal) at about 11.50 and it had an (almost) happy ending so I did at least smile to myself before I fell asleep. Meeting my dad straight from work to take him for his shopping and various other chores (pretty much what I do every Friday afternoon) I might put the lottery on tonight. Who knows my good feeling might have been a day out?
Wishing all you lovely people a Good day
x
Enjoy it!
This is the beginning of the next stage in your life.
We all go through changes and if you are healthy and not poverty stricken, now is time for some contentment, even fun!
Go for it!!
Perhaps you should have bought a lottery ticket? [grin
even!
Sorry but I think it's just the atmospheric pressure changing suddenly with the storm currents. I have noticed days I feel lighter hearted and I know now it's definitely weather-related.
Each night I lie in bed just before dropping off and reflect on the single best/worst thing that happened to me. First one usually generates a gentle smile and the latter - well it wasn't THAT bad. Anything disastrous and I wouldn't be dropping off!
A bit off topic, I know, but speaking of vets and George Clooney, we once had occasion to go to another vet as ours was temporarily out of commission. The new vet really did look like Paul Newman. Wow! So these things can happen...you never know.
Perhaps your 'Christmas cold' finally lifted. I'm still waiting...
Glad to hear it wasnt a bad day gilly, so that means it was good !
Enjoy the good feeling while it lasts, gilly!
I too felt cheerful when I woke up and saw the bright sunshine.
Since then I've had a row with DH, lost £1 in a shopping trolley that wouldn't release my coin when "docked" into another trolley, got charged for parking because the delay caused by trying to get help with the trapped coin took me over the free parking time limit and now my mobile phone has stopped working and I have to send it away for repair.
I was about to start backing up my laptop but can't afford to have that go wrong so am leaving well alone.
Hope everyone else is having a better day than me.
These things may sound trifling in the general scheme of things, but are very frustrating when they all happen within a short space of time.
Gillybob can we take it your feel good day didn't give you a win of millions on the lottery.????????
Ramblinrose22.Not wishing to rain on your parade but isn't this life..You lost a pound coin so what. How important was losing a pound to having a parking fine.Mobiles are temperamental like laptops. Switch them off for a minimum of an hour make a coffee, or even two, dunk in a biscuit and ask yourself what could have been worse.
I hope it continues gillybob
Hand on heart a lottery win would be lovely and would solve a lot of problems with work, financial worries, pay my mortgage off etc. it would help my children and grandchildren and my extended family, it would enable DH to visit India and me to get to go to Nashville.... and they say money can't buy happiness
But how shallow is that? Really?
My cough and cold disappeared for all of about 1 week and has come back again ExaltedWombat I'm fed up with it ! No wonder I'm a miserable cow, if I laugh it starts the coughing off.
I am sending you some
to cheer you up gillybob
Money can't buy happines, but it can rent you a bit of it for a while.
Exactly Elegran . I wouldn't mind doing a long term happiness rental.....
On a serious note though, I don't think money in itself can make you truly happy, you need to have the other things to go with it, like family, friends and most importantly health.
Just come back from my usual Sunday walk on the beach. It's blowing a hooligan which means there were some good "treasures' lying around.
I remember my dear departed Dad being unusually snappy with my Mum when she made some comment about one of his elderly patients who lived in very poor conditions. She'd said that money wouldn't make any difference to her and Dad replied "Of course it would!" Life is just easier with more money. Too much money probably brings its own and different problems but enough can make all the difference between a miserable existence and a nice enough life.
Sorry for raking up this old thread. But it's 03.50 am . I have yet to close my eyes and it's my gorgeous granddaughters 11th birthday today. It should be a happy day for her but it won't be. I have to be at work in 4 hours.
Why is life so damned hard? Why can't something good happen just for bloody well once?
I probably have missed somthing here and don't really know why your beloved granddaughters birthday may not be a happy one. I do know the feeling of being bogged down with the problems life throws at us. When you feel as if your getting no where fast. It's that time of year gillybob we all need a bit of extra sunlight to lift our spirits. Like you I'm going to be exhausted by 12 o'clock because I've not slept well. Being tired doesn't help either. I hope you feel brighter and let's hope for some
very soon to help you on your way.
I'm another one who's been awake since silly o'clock. I don't go out to work like you gilly but l have things to do that are grinding me down.
I really hope your DGD has a happy birthday, it was heartbreaking to read that she won't have.
