God bless Queenie for giving the biggest hint possible

It's a prett hat, but too large and unsteady weighing heavily on the British Sovereign Head.....it will have to go!

I loved the hat. The Queen is so well versed in protocol, dare we hope she is just a bit de-mob happy and sending a message?

whitewave Thu 22-Jun-17 08:51:20

Bluebells it is certainly a hit on social media. The Queen knew exactly what she was doing. Bless her cotton socks!!

whitewave Thu 22-Jun-17 08:52:00

I love the juxtaposition with the European flag. It is the exact colour!!!

Anniebach Thu 22-Jun-17 09:49:37

What hint was she suppose to be giving, think it was most suitable for Ascot

merlotgran Thu 22-Jun-17 09:56:08

She didn't wear it to Ascot.

TriciaF Thu 22-Jun-17 09:58:21

Very pretty - the pearls dotted about to go with those in her ears, and her necklace.
Seemed to me she might be thinking "What a waste of my time this is. I want to go to Ascot. And it's hot.I'm not going to bother with the state carriage or those awful heavy regal robes and crown."

merlotgran Thu 22-Jun-17 10:01:51

Some people think the Queen is making a statement by wearing a hat which resembles the EU flag.

Whoever designed the hat is no doubt having a chuckle having got away with his or her little protest joke.

The Queen is above all that.

Anniebach Thu 22-Jun-17 10:13:11

Gosg she wire blue because she is a Tory

annodomini Thu 22-Jun-17 10:32:30

roses - I doubt if the hat was heavy - lighter than the crown of course! She always wears high-crowned hats which, I assume. safeguard her hair. My hair is always flattened by any hat I wear.

Jalima1108 Thu 22-Jun-17 10:37:43

I don't think she is anniebach - by all accounts she didn't like MT but her favourite PM was Harold Wilson!

Jalima1108 Thu 22-Jun-17 10:38:47

The Queen is above all that.
and that goes for the political wranglings too I would imagine.

She probably reads things out and inwardly groans.

POGS Thu 22-Jun-17 10:56:33

Blimey who would have thoughts hats could be so controversial?

Queens hat, Lenin Cap, Baseball Cap .

Anniebach Thu 22-Jun-17 10:56:54

Doesn't mean she isn't a Tory Jalima, I respect May's dignity , like Ken Clarke and enjoy listening to Rees Mogg, dislike Corbyn and McDonald ,Abbott and Thornbury but I am not a Tory

BlueBelle Thu 22-Jun-17 13:00:21

Oh come on folks the queen is a very astute woman she knows exactly what's she's wearing and why she's wearing it She can't come out and say things so she's giving a signal And no it's nothing to do with being a Tory She's not daft, no hat maker would dare pass something like that off unless she had expressly asked them to do it

NanaandGrampy Thu 22-Jun-17 13:57:10

Its not a signal of any kind - its a hat sigh....

rosesarered Thu 22-Jun-17 14:00:24

Haha! Just a pretty colour and co-incidence is all.
If you want to get ahead, get a hat.smile

Anniebach Thu 22-Jun-17 14:01:05

I serge it's a hat not a bloody flag

NanaandGrampy Thu 22-Jun-17 14:04:05

It is a pretty colour Rose isn't it shall we all debate exactly what that is [laugh]

rosesarered Thu 22-Jun-17 14:08:28

I will kick off with... British Cornflower Blue!

NanaandGrampy Thu 22-Jun-17 14:18:21

Notme Thu 22-Jun-17 14:21:00

Jalima1108 Thu 22-Jun-17 14:49:15

Forget-me-nots? A message?

Alima Thu 22-Jun-17 14:53:42
