It's raining!

Here in the Deep South we had a very dry winter and little heavy rain since. I've been watering every morning for weeks, our river is so low the ducks can walk across, the grass looks dead and I have a permanent bowl of water out for hedgehogs. I've been expecting drought warnings and hosepipe restrictions ever since March.
Now it's pouring with real wet rain! Hurrah! I hope it rains nonstop until school breaks up in 10 day's time.

It can rain for the rest of the summer as far as I'm concerned. I hate hot weather and dread a heatwave being forecast.

My garden is very happy
I hope it stops in the morning though! smile I definitely don't want it to rain for the next ten days shock

I watered all the pots yesterday evening thinking we would have rain forecast overnight but nothing until about 4pm. I began to get worried grin

My DGC got drenched on the way home from school.They loved it and insisted on playing out in the rain.It is lovely to be able to breathe again and to see the grass green once again.Long may it last.

I fell asleep to the lovely sound of rain and slept well for the first time in ages. Still raining now.

We must have given you our rain. For the first morning in ages, the sun is shining through the blinds, here in the west of Scotland. Enjoy the rain, hang onto it as long as possible. We have had plenty recently. grin

Count yourselves lucky you get sunshine! We've had the worst rain on record in June and July not good either! Makes you want to smash the TV when it is all about how warm it is in the south! Today has been nice though.

grin. I agree Elainel If I hear one more time how hot it is down south, I will scream!! We have had grey skies and rain for weeks. The only thing growing in the garden is weeds.

We've just had the 1st rain for a month. It didn't last long but was better than nothing. Hope it's damped down some of the fires!!
