Shopping Trolley Advice, please!

My mum's moved to a retirement flat which means she has a bit more walking/lugging of shopping than she used to have (when she could just park her car on the drive a few feet from the front door), so I'd like to get her a small, lightweight shopping trolley - the antithesis, if possible of those traditional shopping trolleys (hope I'm not offending anyone but she wouldn't use it!). Wondered if anyone could recommend a trolley or a website please? Thanks!

Most of those shopping trolleys are of the same design as the original but in different colours which is what you're trying to avoid... what about getting mum a lighweight cabin case in a pretty colour instead?

Look on amazon they have a vast variety of trolleys

If you search on Amazon for wheeled bags you get some alternatives to shopping trolleys.

I got my Giraffe print one from www.trolleyworld they had a gorgeous one with liquorice allsorts on which I quite fancied.

I agree with looking on Amazon and who knows, you may find a trolley with a small seat which she may need to use.

Is she afraid of looking old by using a shopping trolley? I've never carried shopping since I was 49 and needed my first hip replacement. A trolley is so so much easier. Take her to a luggage shop to try them out. You don't have to be old to use one, just sensible.

I have checked Amazon and there are many with fold down seats at various prices. That is the route that I would go down because she is not getting any younger.

Thakns to you all for your advice! I went on Amazon and found this lovely one which doesn't look too 'old-ladyish' and has good reviews. Only £16 with free delivery, so we'll see how she gets on with it! www.amazon.co.uk/d/Shopping-Bags-Baskets/Sabichi-130990-Lemongrass-Shopping-Trolley/B00CRXSIN4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1502449811&sr=8-1&keywords=Sabichi+lemongrass&tag=gransnetforum-21

Sorry to add to this thread, but I would really like to get a shopping trolley which I can take to work to use on the way home - needs therefore to be collapsible while still moderately robust, to carry e.g. big bottles of milk which get heavy when carried in a carrier - any experience/advice gratefully received!

Have you thought of using a wheeled rucksack? I have one with a retractable handle to use if it gets too heavy to carry when I go to the market for fruit and veg. There are several on Amazon.

That sounds like a good idea; I have one at home, but it's very heavy, so I'll look into finding a lighter one - thanks shysal smile
